But the Jets are not good enough defensively to make up for the offense, which means they will lose games they "should" win. Only the good teams will beat the Titans, Bills, Dolphins, Lions, Browns, Texans, Packers, and the Raiders consistently. The Jets will lose a couple of those.
The Jets haven't even named a QB and you're already saying 10-6?This isn't to bash you but you are wishing too high.Line isn't even completely fixed... loss Mawae at center but did gain BrickLost Curtis Martin... Barlow couldn't even make the 49ers starter and the rest are backupsMcCareins and Coles haven't exactly proven they're playmakers yet... Pennington will prevent the team from ever going deep.Who's the TE again...?Defense... lost Abraham and Law... 2 big names that aren't the easiest names to fillYou simply don't have enough firepower on offense and a good enough defense to say you're better than the Titans, Bills, Dolphins, Lions, Browns, Texans, Packers, and the Raiders.Raiders have Lamont (Jets are probably sorry they lost him now), Moss, Porter on offenseTitans improved their D and have Brown, Henry at RBBills do have McGahee and got Colvin back, easily making their D better... not much elseLions have Kevin Jones to rely on if the QB doesn't deliverBrowns have Winslow, Edwards with Frye... D improved but very oldTexans got Mario and Weaver... Dominick is still quite good... Carr and Johnson still improvingPackers have everyone back... lost Walker thoughDolphins got Culpepper making their offense lethal... defense aging, not what it used to beJets have Coles but not sure who will throw to him and a bad selection of RBs and defense lost 2 key players

Maybe they can take the cleveland, tennessee, or one of the buffalo game but honestly I see them dropping either all 3 or two of those. I'm trying to be realistic here. Not just going against you.
I'm not prediciting 10-6 like Vilma is, as I've stated quite a few times that I would be happy with 6-10 and anything above that is just gravy. But some of your knocks on the Jets are completely rediculous. Line isn't even completely fixed... loss Mawae at center but did gain BrickDid you happen to forget about our other First Round Pick Nick Mangold? Kevin Mawae was a good player, dont get me wrong, but he was also 34 years old and not the same player as he has been in the past, even when he was healthy. He couldn't even snap the ball from the Shotgun formation. Then he got injured for 10 Games last season and we had to move Pete Kendall out of position to Center and have a complete nobody in Jonathan Goodwin play 10 Games starting at Guard. No matter how you want to slice and dice it, Pete Kendall back in his natural position of Guard and Nick Mangold at Center is an upgrade over the middle of the line that we had for most of this past season. The only question mark the Offensive Line really has is How well will the rookies play and How will Anthony Clement / Adrian Jones do in the Right Tackle position and both the Rookies and Clement have looked solid so far in preseason. Sure they have had their Ups and Downs, but they will be just fine IMO. Lost Curtis Martin... Barlow couldn't even make the 49ers starter and the rest are backupsThe Jets were planning on using a Runningback by Committee this Entire season anyways, even with Curtis Martin. While the injury of Curtis Martin certainly hurts us, it doesn't put us in as bad of a position as you would think as we were counting on Blaylock, Houston, and Washington to carry a significant portion of the carries anyways. The addition of Barlow helps add another change of pace to the rotation and I'm sure Mangini is planning on putting each of them in the position where he feels they would best succeed. While it may not be the ideal Runningback situation. Matching up our RB's strengths to our Opponent's weaknesses to exploit them and our Offensive Line being much improved should allow us to be at least decent on the ground. McCareins and Coles haven't exactly proven they're playmakers yet... Pennington will prevent the team from ever going deep.Laveranues Coles hasnt proven himself as a Playmaker when he has 2 seasons of over 1,200 yards recieveing? The guy worked with 5 Different Quarterbacks, a Horrendous Offensive Line (and because of that Little Running Game) last season and put up 845 yards recieveing. The guy is definately a legit #1 reciever in the league. Justin McCareins hasn't started for the Jets in the past 2 weeks of Preseason. He lost the starting role to Third Year Player Jerricho Cotchery who has looked Impressive in camp. Not to mention that the New York Jets have Justin McCareins (Who had his best years as a Third WR in Tennessee), Tim Dwight (Always reliable), and the explosive Brad Smith (Converted QB, Only player in NCAA history to Pass for 8,000 yards and Rush for 4,000 yards) to provide good depth. Who's the TE again...?Chris Baker. Solid player, not exactly the flashy 60 reception type, but he gets the job done. He was having a very solid season last year until he got injured and missed the Final 8 Weeks of the season. Defense... lost Abraham and Law... 2 big names that aren't the easiest names to fillMore like 2 players whose name is bigger then their play was. John Abraham is one hell of a pass rusher, but does that somehow change that he was a liability against the run? I will miss the 10-12 sacks a year that he was pretty reliable for, but I'm not going to miss teams running the ball to his side of the field all of the time because they knew they could get an easy 4-5 yards each time. I'm also not going to miss how Injury Prone the guy is. The Jets are going to replace him with a combination of Kimo von Oelhoffen and Dewayne Robertson who has been playing a DE/NT position so far in Preseason. Kimo von Oelhoffen was only good enough to start for the Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers in their 3-4 Defense and Robertson has looked solid and could be on pace for a breakout season. Ty Law was very poor in coverage for the New York Jets. He didn't seem like he ever fully recovered from his ankle injury and that he lost a step in the Process. Against most speedy #1 recievers last season (Like Steve Smith) we had Justin Miller play as our #1 Cornerback because we felt he gave us a better chance of stopping the opposing WR then Ty Law did on his bum ankle. He was constantly allowing a high amount of yards or penalties allowing the opposing team to move the ball Downfield. Not to mention that Ty Law was constantly causeing Penalties for Pass Interference or Contact Downfield because he never adjusted his game to the 'Ty Law' rules where the CB cant breathe on the opposing WR anymore. Yes, he had 10 Interceptions, but this guy isnt the Shut-Down Corner anymore he was brought to New York to be. (Hence why we cut him.....Honestly, if he was so good, why would we have cut him?)Playing Cornerback this season will be someone among Andre Dyson, David Barrett, Justin Miller, Derrick Strait and Ray Mickens. Not too shabby. I could go on as to which games I think we will win and why, but this one post is already long enough. lol
