His playmaking jumped a lot last season, and his usage didn't increase by a crazy amount along with it. 20/6/5. 2 years left on his deal at 27 and 29.
I just don't understand what a trade would look like.

My guess it only happens as a 3-way where Toronto gets Durant (or, in their dreams, Giannis)

I am not against it but it would have to be a shuffling around assets type deal -- like

    Blazers Trade -- Ant -- #11

Raptors Trade -- RJ and #39 ( used to belong to Blazers BTW )

While I said I am not against it I just would not understand it since I think this team needs ONE more year to grow before making a legit attempt at the play in but IF this front office is dead set on making that push this would be a solid move but it would be a gamble BUT then what to do with Sharpe ?? I think this trade would mean Sharpe is on the way out and I do not trust Cronin to get value for Sharpe so more I think about it maybe this is not a good trade at least with Cronin and this ownership group in place since I have no faith in them.

I'm definitely not trading 11 for Barrett

You know that is a good question about what is Sharpe's value

How I see Sharpe is a guy who could be a borderline All star but NOT with Billups cause we have seen many moments where Billups sits Sharpe when it counts for Ant so unless that changes. I think he is worth a 20 to 25 1st round pick and either a solid young guy who has not had a good chance OR vet who has a little left in tank but only requires 10 to 15 min per game and maybe 2 future 2nd's. I think Sharpe is an enigma cause we all know he has uber talent but for coaching reasons and starting to wonder about Sharpe's passion to get better but might be tied to Billups / team just not sure.

Do you mean to trade for Barrett? Because, of Canadian shooting guards, I still think Sharpe has a higher ceiling and would not like to swap them. That's why this rumor doesn't make much sense to me.

Agreed. Everything I read says he is below average defender.

Possible we flip Barrett in this scenario to say a team like Spurs, Pelicans or another team? Barrett is most likely better player than anything we can get at 11, draft picks are fun but Barrett is legit NBA player averaging almost 20 per game. He’d be a be nice addition for playoff team.

no way in hell I’m trading Sharpe for Barrett unless there’s something going on behind the scenes with Sharpe that they don’t like

On the one hand, Barrett is a Deni-like acquisition of young solid guy who had a good year, but on the other, wouldn't that make a logjam? Are they planning on having him start at PG? I mean, if we offload Anfernee or Jerami, great, but...

Would you do it if it's the #11 and Jerami Grant?

I don't love that. And if Toronto is trying to field a team around Giannis or Durant, they have no use for #11.

Sharpe/RJ/Deni/Camara should all be starters on our team, seems like one would be very unhappy coming off the bench.

I like RJ, it just is an incremental move. We don't need a little bit better guy, swing for the fences. We need to package some of our guys for a star whenever the opportunity presents itself. Take someone at 11 and hope they can grow if you can't find a star to trade for.

Barrett has been more productive in the NBA than I thought he'd be. I was one of those Culver over Barrett guys....lol

Bur he's still a pretty rough shooter and he brings almost nothing defensively. Very poor navigating screens and doesn't have a lot of utility as a switch defender since he's not quick enough to guard smaller guys and doesn't have the overwhelming size to guard up.

    Raptors get KD.
Blazers get RJ and move Grant
Suns get bigger guys who fit better with Booker.

    Doesn’t make sense

    ….unless they’re packaging Sharpe/Scoot for Ja.

Jabari Smith and RJ Barrett are two guys I’d love to see us buy low on. If the teams just don’t value them, we can afford to buy high.

This isn't even a rumor. This is one report that the Raptors would be willing to trade RJ and Quikley but there's nothing linking the Blazers to them. Just speculation.
