Like I wrote earlier, great board fodder LOL. We shall see July 1st when McDavid is eligible to sign an extension, I've read enough articles predicting that he will be the NHL's first $20 mil man to think that's going to be his number so with Nurse and Draisaitl the Oilers would have $44 mil tied up with 3 players along with $40 mil in the rest of their roster contracts with an expected salary cap of $95.5 leaves around $11 mil to fill 7 roster spots.

Mika's wife came out and poured cold water on him wanting to or being willing to be traded. Mika concerns me even more now with his BFF Kreider gone. If he has his head on straight mentally and comes in ready to go next season, I expect a bounce back from Mika. More likely, unfortunately, is he sulks again and has an up and down season. If that's the case Sullivan needs to sit his butt down, you cannot let sulking Mika bring the team down.

Mika needs to man up and get his S together, one would think after the season he (and the team) had he'd be super motivated to have a big year to show he's still a very good player, we'll see what he's made of.

He needs to actually work out in the off-season instead of fucking off. Ever since he got his new contract, he sucks the first 40 games every season. Fox, according to Boyle needs to get his candy ass in the gym.

It is telling that neither Mika nor Fox made their respective Olympic teams on the first release of players, both of these guys used to be top level guys for their countries. One would think that would be yet another motivating factor, but who knows.

After the season the Rangers had, along with their clearly diminished individual play, and now not being named on the first Olympic roster release, these guys should be working their a**es off this summer.

I don’t think they both give a shit if they were picked for their Olympic team on the first roster release.

I disagree; it's a pride thing IMO. They are guys who were top players for their country and now they aren't even in the first group of players selected, I'm sure they don't love that. I don't think they are in the fetal position crying, but I am sure it doesn't feel good to be passed over initially.

Rempe re-signed for two-years 975 K per. Fair deal all around, I think.

Love the signing of fan favorite Rempe, Edstrom/Carrick/Rempe is a nice 4th line.

The Oilers are going to resign Frederic for 8 yr/$30 mil, that's Goodrow money. Duchene stays with the Stars but they trade Marchment to Krappo's Kracken. A nice flurry of activity.

“Lebrun reporting that if McDavid ever leaves there would be only a short list of teams he would consider going to. He lists Kings, Rangers, Hawks and Stars”

If his wife wants to come to New York, I don’t think she’ll give a shit where as in Edmonton there is nothing to do. I think he will probably sign a three-year extension in Edmonton at like 18 million a year. If they can’t give him a real goaltender after that, he’ll leave and go somewhere where he thinks he can win a cup.

Yeah, if he ends up here it will be when he's slightly past his prime in an age 33 season.

That would be Rangers like. Right now, get K'Andre Shithead off the team and get a good return. Hoping a 2026 first and solid left handed defenseman prospect.

Matthews has the top contract at $16.7 per, McDavid easily gets $20 per. If he stays with Edmonton they will have to adjust their roster to stay under the cap and they'll be running it back with the same 2 low paid goalies.

Rumors the Rangers are trying to trade up to three or four in the draft. The only way I see that happening is if Lafreniere is on the table.
