In this scenario we would waive Scary Terry. We don't want him anywhere near Portland.

I don't think we should waste our number 11 pick to just unload Jerami. If we have to attach a FRP to move him then we need to hold onto him.

What if we end up with Miami's #20 in the above scenario? That would get us somebody like Noah Penda or Jase Richardson.

I think he's best suited for the bench if he stays. I may have read his exit interview incorrectly, but as I recall, he was not thrilled with his role as a 3 and D player. He wants the ball in his hands more, and that only happens with the second unit. (If at all)

Yeah, I don't think trading down to get out of Jerami's contract would be too bad. I was also thinking if a team wanted a FRP for him they could have the worst of the 2029 FRPs (ours, the Bucks and the Celtics).

Ideally we'll either use Jerami off the bench to rehabilitate his value or move him in a bigger package that brings back a player that makes more sense on our roster.

Yeah, his exit interview sounded like he wanted out. I remember something about him, his agent and Joe trying to figure things out.

I would do that. Vanderbilt is only 2years plus a player option.....at 12-13 million.
No need to draft another defensively-minded forward if that happens. (Get Coward)

I don't hate this. Vando off the bench, waive Vincent and Kleber and then try to flip DFS to a team with an exception.

Then he can take a fukkin pay cut! Yeah I know that can't happen under CBA rules but he should be content to do what we tell him given the money we pay him and how shitty he played last year

Agreed. If we had an immediate use of cutting his salary like we were able to get an all-star or were going to save $100 million of tax, or couldn't resign Sharpe/Camara I get doing it.

None of those are issues this off-season. If we can't trade Grant for a better asset or better fitting assert then just keep him here. Next summer he will be a year away from an expiring contract.

So you want to trade Grant for someone better than him (ok, but we probably need to add some stuff) and for someone that would start over our young guys?

Don't we want to move Grant so young guys get more time?

What? Do you think Austin is better than Grant?

Not sure what you want to do but i don't want to "Help" the Lakers.

    Hope that helps.

Yeah, that way they split his cap hit 5 ways and each team gets to play him 12 games because Jerami likes to keep his total games played around 60.

Austin Reaves is better than Jerami Grant, yes. Grant has a shitty contract and regressed tremendously last year. Reaves had a better year than Shaedon Sharpe last year and could potentially Start over him next year too if we had him.

After what we got for Simons, I have no idea what Grant is worth. Probably nothing. We will be lucky to get off his contract without giving up a FRP.
