He was one of the worst players we've had in a while and I think we got MORE than we should have.

I think he will be fine by then. Of course he was pissed going from the team with he 3rd best record to a lottery team. I would not expect him to be happy about it. No player would.

Oh I hated the contract when it was announced. Go read the threads then I was strongly opposed to the deal regardless of Dame (and I wanted Dame traded)

Shelburne reported it on TV... I don't track links of everything Ive heard in my life just to give to some random guy online. Just starting a fact of what she said on national TV. You can go find it if you care so much.

Joe Cronin is terrible! He kept Ant who sucks at D and is a negative, who is stunting Sharpes career.
Cronin is a terrible GM! He traded Ant for a defensive master who fits the style of play this team is going for and can mentor Scoot. He doesn't need the ball like Ant did but dammit… Cronin is just terrible!!!!!

Blazer make the playoffs in 2026 or 2027 they get the swap.

If they miss the playoffs both years and miss it in 2028 they keep the swap.

Only scenario they lose the swap is miss the playoffs in 2026, 2027, but make it in 2028.

Yeah it's possible.... But seems unlikely.

If each years playoffs was a coin flip that would be a 1/8 chance of 7/8 chance they keep the swap.

Also another way of thinking about it - only way the Blazers lose the swap is if they miss the playoffs SIX consecutive years to them make it the ONE year they would lose a swap.

Not really what you ideally want to hear from a guy you just invested $100+ million in and gave up a decade younger 20ppg scorer.

Holiday has to be on the move? My guess is that there’s a player that they want and the other team said get me Jrue and we can make a deal? No idea who said player/ pick would be?

Him being pissed Boston traded him doesn't mean he hates Portland..just means he was dug in in Boston. Might have just bought a house he really digs...who knows? He praised Joe Cronin with the Dame trade and has a good relationship with Chauncey. Ayton was pissed at the Suns when they traded him too. Most guys are pissed to have to move, change their kids schools, etc....it's just like the military, you might get shuffled around a lot to earn your paycheck.

Seems like he actually hates Portland

"surprised if Portland doesn’t move him on if they can, because right now he does not want to go there."

I think Jrue is about the best case scenario in a Simons trade... I was surprised we got that much, until I remembered he'd had injury problems last season.

And even with the injury, it's good value for Simons.

I wasn’t saying that they wouldn’t make trades. I thought they wouldn’t take on huge salaries unless they were expiring

Joe could flip Jrue easily now for any one out of a field of players if it's true that multiple teams are looking to trade for him. Turning Jrue into another impact rotation player would be doable.
