Trade him back to MIL. I would take Bobby Portis sign and trade and 2 seconds. (Just to get our seconds back.) They need a PG. And they can play him along Dame after he is back.

But how would we have got Jrue from Boston without the Dame trade?

Ok in version 2 I will have middle ground options and thus 9 poll choices. I had thought 4 was enough.

    You gave two options.

I like it or I hate it. There was no middle ground.

Yeah just like voting for a candidate - ultimately you got to pick one or the other. Turd Sandwich or a Giant Douche.

Yep and I would add that I hate we gave up picks too, especially since we saved Boston money. Seems bad negotiating if you ask me. Would rather use picks and go after another Deni like player that just needs a new team to grow.

I really don’t care that much about second rounders. I think that NIL is gonna render the second round rather meaningless. We have already seen a lot of players drop out of this draft.

I think we might see a dip in how valuable second round picks are because of NIL but four years from right now the second round should be filled with all of the guys that would have been second rounders next year. So NIL won't kill the second round it'll just eventually make it filled with good seniors. I bet next draft and the following couple the second round will be very foreign heavy.

Ultimately, we acquired Jrue from a Simons deal that had nothing to do with the Dame deal. Dame got us Deni through Jrue.

Yeah maybe. I guess we will see. But the blazers will be the best team in the league in five years so our pick will be the last pick in the second round :devilwink:

Player for player, for our team, I think it’s a good trade. IMHO, Ant does not play winning basketball, or at least hasn’t for us. That being said, with reports coming out that Jrue wants nothing to do with the Blazers, liking the trade depends on if he stays or goes, and goes for who….or is it whom?

I hate the trade. Boston obviously wanted to move Holiday for a much younger and much cheaper player. When no one would take Holiday and his massive contract, they turned to Portland, who is always a sucker for a bad deal.

Why would anyone want to trade a talented scorer for some guy whose main skill is defense? Points win games.

Oh I don’t care to draft them, instead use them for a more meaningful trade. I don’t like using picks to dump a player. If we have to add picks to trade Grant, oh man that’s gonna hurt. Another example is some teams that are flush with first round picks are willing to trade 1 for 2 future seconds.

If NIL causes players to return to college yes that might hurt the 2nd round for ~3 years but that would be the extent of it. Yes in 3 years all the talent would then be coming out and as more senior NBA ready players.

It won't cause the 2nd round to be better in 3-4 years then an average year though. As there still would be 2028 underclassmen returning to college because of the NIL. So in no year would we get a "super 2nd round" or such. But it would have the 2nd round value return to the 2024 and prior level of value.
