Jrue not being a professional in this situation is very very low on my list of concerns about the trade.

Exactly how? Holiday being on the roster will be the same as Ant, limiting their playing time and having a front row seat to watch another vet finish out the games. Because their numbers and usage will be low, their ability to command a large contract will be stunted. If I were Scoot or Shaedon I would want out of town on the first plane. I understand you and management do not care about those things. Players do. If the Blazers cannot commit to them, move them. They are killing their value as well as development.

Don’t worry Joe probably asked Jrue’s camp to refute that “I’m pissed” report to help his trade value. Joe is always 2 moves ahead.

Killing their development? SS has upped his scoring each year, scoring 18.5 ppg in his third year of basketball since high school. Now we’ve traded Ant to create more usage for him. SS should score 23-25 ppg next season, establishing himself as one of the best young players in the association.

Good luck with that. He was benched for poor defense. Many here want to see an all defense team out there. That is not Sharpe. And he would have averaged 25 by your thinking if Ant and CB were out of his way.

Jrue might prevent Scoot Sharpe from getting as much minutes as they like. But he's not going to stand in the way of their offense or roles. He's nothing like Simons. Total team first guy and will go do anything on either end to best help the team. I'm actually very excited to see these guys all play together next season.

The concern is 100 million of salary until 2028.

Fentress? I didn't know reading it on Twitter at the time of the trade counted as a source telling him. Maybe it was fans that read the tweets that told him.

You used to play in foosball tourney’s?

we should talk stories. My father was a pro player. Travelled the country from tourney to tourney. We have a room full of trophies and stuff. Signed photo of Larry Holmes in a ring with a table in it., etc.

Adding onto my rant... of course who starts the "sources say" rumors we get are agents serving their client's interests. Reporters/media are more then happy to run with anything juicy even if they know it's likely not true. Does it really have to be spelled out who's interests are being served with rumors that Portland's management is holding out trading an under performing Grant for multiple 1sts when he is getting derided by PDX fans?

I never said national media reported Grant was worth multiple 1st.

Nate Duncan reported that Grant had positive trade value last summer (summer 2024) to multiple NBA teams and was surprised the Blazers didn't flip him then. Brought it up again during the season when Grants horrible play tanked his value.

You have to consider the source for national media. If its some random twitter article based on AI generation it probably means nothing. There are national media that certainly give a good insight into value throughout the league.

Wow...just locally and down at the oregon coast once in a while. Thats neat about your pop, I wasnt close to being a professional those guy's were a league of their own. Did he ever play The Chili Bowl in Newport Oregon? They had some pro tourneys. I haven't touched a table in almost 25 years.

The source is Grant's agent trying to help his client to save face. Try using a little common sense as to why a team would want to commit to paying fillet mignon prices for hamburger for years when they're on a limited budget?

Somebody other than me (I've started too many threads, I think we can all agree) post a poll about thumbs up/thumbs down for the Ant-Jrue trade. I'm kind of surprised how many people seem to be down on it - I think it's great!

[Edit: nobody did it, so I was forced to]

16-8 people like the trade vs hate it
13-11 people believe its a bad trade for the Blazers vs good"

Yeah pretty crazy that Jrue has an even worse contract than Grant. With the sale of the team I didn't see that type of move as likely.
