Just want to take the board's temperature. No qualifiers like "I'd be fine if the picks weren't involved" or "surely we could've just waived Anfernee" or whatever - are you happy about the trade or not?

Im sure Boston initiated the trade and Joe went along with it, same as last year, I bet the Bullets approached Joe not the other way around. The salary and age are the main factor for me. Hope he's packaged for a younger player and/or picks.

After the initial shock of it, I've come around, and it's a thumbs up from me.

Seems there is also the possibility that J&C may go with Scoot off the bench and Grant, Sharpe, Ayton, Camara, & Jrue starting.

I logically believe it was a bad trade and the wrong move to make. Not a smart gamble to risk over $100 million on a player that will be 38 at the end of the deal. Blazers aren't going to be a contender next season where maybe in that situation you could justify it.

I like the trade because Holiday is one of my favorite NBA PG's. So I'll be happy to root for him and hope we get lucky with his health/performance. Hope he proves me wrong. But I believe the deal was a mistake.

So Deni is sent to the bench?

Crazy that he is arguable our best player. Yeah we had Sheed off the bench in 99 but just don't see it making sense with the starters you list.

If there is a follow up trade it could be decent to good. Fortunately he may have done us a solid by saying he doesn’t want to be here (source my son) and we go back to the Celtics and add another team or two and send him onward preferably for a 1st or maybe a young wing on a win now team. It seems Houston is pushing their chips in maybe we can get them involved?

Think we just have to hope some team is stupid and coughs up a pick like the Kings often do for players that get them to further irrelevance.

Maybe we actually send him to the Kings?

Jonas would be nice center duo for Clingan. Also would free us to send Ayton out without getting a center back.

Fire every single employee in the Kings organization if they did this. Maybe go get all their spouse's fired from their jobs too.

They've been doing it for decades - even back to different ownership and every single employee being different.

Possibly till we trade Grant before trade deadline. Bring up Grants value?

I gave it a thumbs down because by itself with our current roster construction and no additional trades it makes no fucking sense and I thought we could have moved Ant more cleanly maybe getting two FRPs back and bringing back someone to be a backup and clear the runway for Scoot and Shaedon not start in front of one of them.

In a vacuum I think even at 35 with last season being pretty bad that Jrue probably has more value than Ant and two SRPs. So if we flip him for something that makes more sense then the deal can be salvaged.

So, it's a thumbs down for now but there are a lot of ways to salvage the deal and make it a thumbs up, probably no way of making it a thumbs way up.

Thats what year 3 of doing this? We'll be over half way through his 5 year contract, and 6 years as a Blazer. How many Blazers have even been starters here for 6 years in franchise history? Probably less than a dozen.
