    This was posted on reddit, and the photo is blurry, but here is a screenshot from Minnesota's draft room while the 16th pick was being made.

    Like I said, it is blurry. Supposedly, that blurry image on the laptop is Yang Hansen. I actually think the shape of the face and hair are a match, even if potato quality.

    Watched this video. Will catch more. Sure they are all the same. What I got out of this is his name is pronounced;

    Han, as in Han Solo
    Sen, as in senator
    Yang, as in pong

    What is the picture suggesting? The Yippin' Puppies at the next pick, but that could just be people who are tired.

    Maybe the photo was taken right after the pick cause Minny was trying to figure out who we drafted and typed his name into google.

    I have absolutely no idea if Yang will be a bust, a future All-Star, or (more likely) something in between. I do find it a bit weird that on a Blazers board that got so excited over the Blazers hiring Mike Schmitz for his talent evaluation acumen, people go bananas when the team doesn’t pick the safe player expected by all of the mock drafts. To go with the mixed metaphors, I like taking a swing for a big hit over dinking out grounders. Fingers crossed that it works out great.

    There been a whole lot of talk on here over the last year about "Swinging for the Fence" this is that. This is Mike's legacy pick and what will eventually land him a GM job. He been on this guy for a while now.

    Why does this matter if other teams were willing to take him? Why does he make sense for us? With Clingan.

    I mentioned the 14th pick. Of course, that was the primary leverage used on Avdija. But we also heard plenty of rumors that the Blazers were considering trading up to make sure they got Clingan. But would the Blazers have used two lottery picks last season on two, slow-footed drop-coverage C's 8 months after adding Ayton and Timelord? I guess that's basically where the Blazers are

    or would they have traded the 7th pick for Avdija hoping it had enough value that Washington would not demand that 2029 1st? Then use the 14th on Yang?

    obviously, the F.O.'s consideration of Yang was before the draft order was sorted and before it became clear Yang wasn't entering the draft last season

    I'd say it's 11-30

    I see it as a Nurkic/Jokic type of deal. Draft them both, see who’s going to be better after a couple of years, and then move the other. There’s also the insurance factor. Given how Blazers bigs drop like flies with injuries, depth is a good thing.

    Well, most teams need at least two centers. The Blazers, with their injury history, need 3+
    We can't depend on Timelord, and if Ayton demands too much to re-sign, then he won't be back. Plus now I feel better about trading him.

    I am not saying this is a good pick, just that I can see why we needed a center to go along with Clingan.

    Denver did not spend two lottery picks on their bigs when they employed this strategy.
