Those people are Morons.

Morons are incurious. They don't like to think shit through. They view thinking as a chore or worse a punishment. So they stopped thinking about a thing after they heard exactly one explanation for that aspect of the world. They don't need to think anymore; they were given an explanation. Taxes bad! Reagan said! And they don't *want* to think anymore because it's fucking hard to think all the time. It's work!

They look at us, people who like to think, and we look like those weird CrossFit guys to them. "Eww, who would want to do that?" they scoff. "All they do is exercise their brains all day." They call us elites because thinking is considered good by society. They resent thinkers because de-industrialization has made thinking the only way to get better jobs. So they don't listen, because listening is work they don't want to do, and they hate us for telling them to think.

Then the internet made it easy to grift morons. Easy to become a micro-celebrity. So now, we're stupid for being thinkers because they've figured out you can be a moron and you can be rich through grift, you can be famous through celebrity, and you can be the President of the United States through both. They've got Generative AI on their side, technology specifically marketed to morons that will bridge the gap and give morons a chance to take the high paying jobs from thinkers.

Because a moron economy isn't about making, it's about taking. Morons take money from others through trickery and grift. Tax evasion. Morons consolidate power away from inclusion. Morons eliminate diversity of thought. Competition is anathema to Morons because they lose in any competitive environment.

They look at us running around thinking and shit, and they see people doing work they don't have to. They feel superior. And why not? The richest man in the world is a Moron. The president is a Moron. Lots of world leaders were Morons. Hitler was a Moron! Stop thinking, and it all gets so much easier. Take the blue pill, and you don't have to worry about shit. You out-of-the-matrix weirdos, all you get is sack cloth clothes and weird slop food. Morons get to eat fake steak in a fake restaurant and never have to worry that all of it is an illusion.

 

And, if anything, he'll split the vote and allow a Republican to win. Which is much better for the DNC and rich Democrats.

 

And I don't mean to offend but this is pretty typical of my generations experience. The old timers don't want to let go and let the newcomers start.

 

It's what they want. DNC is using the "war on terror" strategy book to create a never-ending culture war to goose donations.

 

And the Christians blame the Jews for killing Jesus. You'd think after 2000 years they'd get over it......

 

"Moron Culture" is a pretty accurate term. They are so insistent on tax breaks for the rich that they can't see what a huge kick in the balls it is for them. Growing up in the '60's I lived pretty much next door to a Portland city park. That park had two swimming pools (still does). As a kid, I literally went swimming every single summer day for FREE, year in, year out. The parks put on arts and crafts programs for a very minimal fee. This is just one example of how life used to be (and could still be) when the rich actually paid their fair share of taxes. Over time, they have gotten one tax break on top of another, until they barely pay any taxes at all. On the rare occasions those swimming pools are now open during the summer, a fee is now charged. Arts and crafts programs no longer exist. This is just one single example. Because the rich do not want to pay their fair share, our country looks more and more like a third world shithole with every passing day. But then, the rich has the resources to keep that reality at bay while the rest of us fight over the scraps. Gawd I am SOOOOOOOOOO fucking proud to be an American........

Sinaloa cartel used phone data and surveillance cameras to find FBI informants, DOJ says

WASHINGTON, June 27 (Reuters) - A hacker working for the Sinaloa drug cartel was able to obtain an FBI official's phone records and use Mexico City's surveillance cameras to help track and kill the agency's informants in 2018, the U.S. Justice Department said in a report issued on Thursday.

, opens new tab of the FBI's efforts to mitigate the effects of "ubiquitous technical surveillance," a term used to describe the global proliferation of cameras and the thriving trade in vast stores of communications, travel, and location data.

The report said that the hacker worked for a cartel run by "El Chapo," a reference to the Sinaloa drug cartel run by Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, who was extradited to the United States in 2017.

The report said the hacker identified an FBI assistant legal attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City and was able to use the attaché's phone number "to obtain calls made and received, as well as geolocation data." The report said the hacker also "used Mexico City's camera system to follow the (FBI official) through the city and identify people the (official) met with."

The report said "the cartel used that information to intimidate and, in some instances, kill potential sources or cooperating witnesses."

The report did not identify the alleged hacker, attaché or victims.
The U.S. Embassy in Mexico referred questions to the State and Justice departments, who did not immediately return messages seeking comment. The FBI and a lawyer for El Chapo did not immediately return messages seeking comment.

The collection of granular location data from people's phones by a wide variety of commercial and official actors, combined with ever-growing coverage of surveillance cameras, has posed a thorny problem for intelligence and law enforcement officials, many of whom rely on confidential informants.
The report said that recent technological advances "have made it easier than ever for less-sophisticated nations and criminal enterprises to identify and exploit vulnerabilities" in the global surveillance economy. It said the FBI had a strategic plan in the works for mitigating those vulnerabilities and made several recommendations, including more training for bureau personnel.
