Phoenix is still above the second apron-> so they can't aggregate salaries.... so a Grant trade is not possible without Booker (nope), Beal (nope), or Green (maybe) coming back.

I actually think Beaker Heurter would be the better target.
Chicago might be an Ayton destination.

I'd rather try Grant for Huerter and Collins.

Ayton for those two work the same.

With the rumors of Cam Whitmore being on the trade market, is this someone that we could go after? At what price?

Would we be willing to trade the worst '29 first?

lottery protected....OK. Blazers still have a 6.9M TPE from the Brogdon/Deni trade that expires on July 5. Their questionable cap management over the last 3 years has seen Portland 'lose' 3 TPE's of around 8.5M. It would be nice if they actually used a TPE asset

lottery protected 2029 1st for Whitmore; that would slide the Rockets under the tax line

gotta be careful with that 2029 first though. A couple of months ago it was 'obviously' the Boston 1st and it was going to be a late 1st round pick. But since then, Tatum has suffered a severe Achilles injury, the Celtics are busy off-loading talent because of cost, and may be dangling Jalen Brown in trade talks. That 1st is looking a lot more valuable at this point

We're trying to build a defensive identity. If we sign a guy who can't defend a lick just because he's a good shooter, that will compromise it. Think of us as trying to be this season what Orlando was last season. Next season we can do our Desmond Bane trade...

Best thing we could do is find the best shooting coach in the league and lure them to Portland.

We're not TERRIBLE at threes (last three columns below). Well, except for DeAndre. Matisse looked promising in those 15 games. If he could sustain that he'd be a very valuable player.

Should the Blazers be interested in Robinson?
