Guys there is NO STRETCH to this, it's a one season buyout with like additional cap reduction for whatever he signs for elsewhere

So you don’t think anyone will gamble on Ayton in the next couple weeks? Didn’t Portland take a gamble on him?

Joe should have been able to get something for him, Not sure Joe knows how work the phones and deal. He'll say well we really got the player we wanted anyway. I guess its possible Ayton and his agent said lets work something and get me out of here since you drafted centers the last two years.
    Path of least resistance Joe.

correct. Joe is not a great deal maker and persuader sales type, a disadvantage for us, and even his most ardent defenders would probably agree. Our path to contention with him is that Schmitz and the assistants end up being amazing talent evaluators and we draft really well and trade for underrated players other teams don’t think as highly of.

I think we all get it, more like some of us hated it the last time with all the dead money on the cap.

the only thing "wrong" is your assertion that LA can pay him 14 mil without having any avenues to do so.

they are a tax team. max they can offer is 5.7.

The only deal he could probably get was to take back worse stuff. I would guess a free agent signing is possible now?

The front office is rockin' and rollin' so far...I like it. I don't think they picked up the option on Jabari Walker and read he and Banton will probably move on before next season.

So why do this now? So that DA can get a deal? Is that the only way he would agree?

Free agency hasn’t started yet. I’m just curious why they didn’t wait to do this. Something else coming?

The Wolves are interested in him and just let our former Summer league star Garza go along with another young player.

They’re doubling down that Yang will contribute. Whatever the case, we’re making some really off the wall moves so far. Management will look like geniuses or the opposite. I feel like there’s no middle ground when we look back on this summer.
