Or, y'know, HIS OWN CHOICE. Ever think that Dame doesn't WANT to come back? Some baggage back here, you know.
That was my first thought as well. If his rehab is quicker than expected, he could join a team at the playoff eligibility deadline for the minimum. If not, then pick a team next summer.
God almighty, I forgot that. Joe Dumars has done more damage to that franchise in less time than any GM in history.
Huh. Still, I maintain that he will want one last shot at contending, and it won't be with us. Houston is REALLY short on guards right now....
So much for my dream that the Bucks would take Jerami in part to make Dame happy. I guess we truly are stuck with him. Unless we buy HIM out too!
Wow I think this helps our Milwaukee pick a ton? Dame is now on their cap for FIVE YEARS! The only addition they get is Miles Turner on a $107 million deal. We own their pick in 3+4+5 years!!! They might even be ok next year which is fine - but this does nothing to help them building for 2028-2030! As for Dame - he's out for the year and not worth even using up a vet minimum roster spot right now. If he wants to join in 2026-27 as a backup then explore it then next summer. Possible he might just ultimately retire and never play at an NBA level again.
Dude is out the entire season - it doesn't matter if CJ Elleby was our only PG - it makes no sense to sign Dame. Just as much sense as to sign Roy or Aldridge or whatever.
With Tyrese out, this year was going to suck for them anyway - so paying Turner didn't make sense. They've gotta be more concerned with can Tyrese come back to the level he was at?
N.o. had the 2026 Pacers pick top 4 protected. They traded it back to Indy like 3 days before Hali got hurt for #23
