<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Patriots | Branch files a grievance against the teamFri, 1 Sep 2006 12:56:26 -0700Tom E. Curran, of NBC Sports.com, reports New England Patriots WR Deion Branch and his agent, Jason Chayut, have filed a grievance against the team with the NFLPA, according to sources. They are asking a special master to hear the grievance in an emergency meeting Friday, Sept. 1. Although the Seattle Seahawks talked numbers with Chayut, the New York Jets wound up being the only team to talk to New England about what its contract demands would be. The Jets offer, the source said, was for six years and $36 million but it had a "funky structure." Chayut is alleging that there was a verbal agreement between he and the Patriots that New England would deal Branch if presented with a "fair and reasonable" offer. Chayut also alleges that the Jets presented New England with that offer but that the Patriots didn't act on it.</div>Wow, he REALLY wants out, eh?

Obviously, the Seahawks play in a weak division, but uhhhh helloooo? Superbowl? The Seahawks are one of the elite teams in the NFL. The Gaints, Bears, Chiefs, Broncos, Patriots, Bengals, Steelers, they all are not as complete nor as strong as the Seahawks are. The only team that you mentioned that is better than the Hawks right now are the Colts. The Hawks are solid everywhere. Hasselbeck, Alexander, and Strong make up one of the best backfields in the game. The offense line is very solid and deep, even without Hutchinson. The WR corps is solid as well, Darrell Jackson, Bobby Engram, Nate Burleson, and Jeremy Stevens (injured right now). Defensive line is one of our strengths. Unknown to many, the Seahawks lead the league in sacks last year with 50. From Grant Wistrom to Rocky Bernard to even Daryl Tapp, our D-line is solid and deep. LBs are also a strength, Leory Hill, Lofa Tatupu, and Julian Peterson make up one of the youngest but best LBs corps. The secondary is probably the weakest part of the team, but even so, the talent is there. The Hawks are also one of the best coached teams. They had very few penalties last year and were their best on third downs (both offensively and defensively) and also in the red zone (both offensively and defensively)The only reason, and the only reason that the Hawks are not more liked or more known is because we are in the Pacific NW.
Deion has to realize: There is a reason teams didn't ofer the Patriots anything respectable for him. While he is a Top 10 NFL Reciever, he isn't an elite NFL reciever. If he came out this year and dominated with the absence of David Givens... BAM! Big contract, out of New England. Now, because of his stubbornesss, he probably won't play to start out the year and get less a contract.

That's plenty respectable, especially one from the Jets which just about everybody believes will be a high second rounder. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Seahawks | Team still pushing for BranchFri, 1 Sep 2006 19:37:56 -0700John Tomase, of the Boston Herald, reports even though the deadline to trade for him has passed, the Seattle Seahawks are still pursuing New England Patriots WR Deion Branch. A source in Seattle said the Seahawks believe they're very much in the mix and that the Patriots told them, "They're going to continue to pursue this thing." Sources say the Patriots have backed off requests for two first-round picks and would accept a first-round pick and a middle-round pick. Though the Seahawks didn't offer higher than a second-round pick, a source they said they would be willing to trade their first-round pick, which would likely be low in the draft anyway.</div>
If the front office goes after Branch right after getting Burleson...Especially our first rounder. The Hawks have been drafting exceptionally well the last couple years, I would really regret it if we traded our first or even our second rounder...
