I'm married with two daughters - I'm wrong more times a day than I can count.

Now do I think there's a question on Kris Murray effectiveness as an NBA player? No - I do not. Billups being effective his early years then way better later in his career doesn't change that.

Plenty of questions on the Blazers upcoming season. I don't see how Kris Murray is one of them - not how any of these Nash/Billups arguments have changed that.

I think the reason why they keep hanging on to Murray is because all reports are that he's amazing in practice.... he just sucks at shooting in games. Which is completely mental.

Soon is Korean. It’s Sun in Chinese or more likely, Tsen with a silent "t"...Chinese romanization is all over the map when using English characters...

Sounds like the guy we drafted a ways back from Nevada - was it Luke Babbit?

This doc of his draft process is in chinese but there are some interesting notes here:

    1. His workout with the Blazers was unimpressive. They didn't think the Blazers liked him. Looking back, they think the Blazers were just trying to be lowkey.
    2. On the day of the draft, they got a call before the draft asking if they had concerns about Portland. They said, they were only concerned with the 76ers picking him if he fell to 35. Blazers drafted him later that night.
    3. They (his team) thought Yang was going to be drafted in the 20s.
    4. Blazers messaged Yang after his workout wishing him well and asking him to come back to the states soon. They didn't think much of it at first, but looking back it was a clear sign of interest.
    5. Schmitz messaged Yang's translator during the draft wishing him good luck during the 3rd or 4th pick - and asking if they were at the draft. They thought it was strange, but after the Blazers traded back from 11 to 16, they had a good idea that maybe they were gonna pick him at 16, because 11 was too high.
    6. Around the 14th-15th pick, the NBA called them asking them to get ready, so they already knew the Blazers pick. I recall during the draft the Blazers made their pick really quickly, so it makes sense.

God you don’t think before you hit the keys son. How ironic that you blasted ME continuously for “Not knowing anything about the NBA!”

Bros about to have to come in and contribute immediately. Given the teams need he’s in more of a “sink or swim” than “wait it out” kind of situation. We’re hoping he can come in year 1 and be functional. We’re not even looking at a long term project. He’s either it, or he’s not.

If he can’t keep up with the rest of the team developmentally, then he’s not the answer for us. Which means that he has to show he’s able to keep up defensively against the rest of the league. Offensively things should flow for him.

He can begin the season as the 4th string center behind Clingan, Timelord, Reath. We should get one on a two way as well. The kid just turned 20, is coming to a new language, new culture, and huge step up in competition. Totally fine if not expected that he may need quite a bit of time on the bench first.

If he's ready quicker than thats great but I wouldn't expect it.

    club = team

In sports contracts, team options and player options determine who has the power to decide whether a contract continues for another year. A team option gives the team the right to extend the contract, while a player option gives the player that right.

    Team Option:
The team can choose to exercise the option to keep the player for another year under the existing contract terms.
If the team declines the option, the player becomes a free agent.
This provides flexibility for the team, allowing them to assess the player's performance and decide if they want to keep them.

    Player Option:
The player can choose to exercise the option to stay with the team for another year, or decline it to become a free agent.
If the player exercises the option, the team must honor the contract for the additional year.
This provides flexibility for the player, allowing them to potentially seek a better contract elsewhere or stay with the current team.

    In essence:

Team option: The team decides if the contract continues.

Player option: The player decides if the contract continues.

His offense appears to be very advanced with great footwork. Of course his level of competition in China was not the greatest, but he looked great against international competition. Sounds like he is a long ways away defensively. Should be a fun watch. Can't teach height.
