Mattisse shoots the 3 well off the bench and with Jrue either Deni or Shaedon may be coming off the bench as a 6 man...Shaedon and Scoot and Khris need to improve as 3 pt shooters. Duop is a decent shooter.

you don't understand the "comparison"? It was a simple gauge between a player we have seen very little and a player we are very familiar with. A gauge of skills and basketball value. Of strengths and weaknesses. That was pretty obvious

it doesn't matter how "cheap" Kispert is compared to Grant because Washington won't be trading Kispert for Grant; at this point, Portland appears to be 'stuck' with Grant for a season or two more. The Kispert/Grant comparison in terms of contracts is irrelevant because that wouldn't be the exchange. There's no either/or here. It might be either Thybulle or Timelord. Or maybe Kispert absorbed into Portland's MLE

as far as size: Kispert was measured as 6' 6"; Grant was 6' 6.5". Kispert was weighed as 224; Grant was weighed as 214. Essentially they are the same size

Yeah, Mattise really did well off the bench, Rupert, Khris were not good with the three at all.

I dunno if the Blazers should be interested but I certainly don't find him interesting. He would need to be a serious knockdown shooter to overcome his other deficiencies, and he's good but not elite. If we're going to get somebody with defensive inadequacies just to improve the shooting of our squad, let's revisit the Sasha Vezenkov suggestion. He rebounds, too!

Other than the 8" difference in their wingspan.

If there’s a signing of a free agent difference maker into the NTPMLE this off-season — okay. I have not heard or read of a player like that on this board or elsewhere.

If there is a trade into the NTPMLE during the season of either a difference maker or a prospect Schmitz loves or — more likely — a season ending contract where a taxpayer doesn’t want to pay a serious, multiplied tax AND will give up 1st round draft capital (a lower 1st or a distant 1st), then that’s okay, too.

I obviously could end up being wrong, but the Ayton pay-off was both a good move in itself to clean the roster at a reduced cost AND as a move during the season to increase assets. I could be wrong on this actually being intended for a move during free agency.

That is only relevant if the Blazers think they can move Grant. If they can, then sure, he would be a relatively cheap replacement. But if they can't, then Kispert adds another 13 million per year for 3 years. (behind Deni, Camara, and Grant)

After Dames buyout it might not seem that outlandish. I’ve seen where some mock trades have Robert Williams & 2nd round picks for Kispert?

To keep their generational superstar in his prime (and who likes it there), MIL doing what they thought they had to keep him is understandable. I like the Turner move. I don’t like stretching so many Dame years at that cost. And they lack draft picks and control, too.

Buying out a big contract of one year? Okay. No stretching!
Two years? Hope it’s fewer $$$.
Three? Nope. Unless you have Giannis …
