Nah... he will be in the running for the award every year that he's healthy but if he wins it a few times, it's an award voted on by media... those people get fatigued with giving the same people the same awards. They gave Karl Malone the MVP when MJ had one of his best seasons, the same can be said for Barkley's MVP.

So yeah, if healthy Wemby might be the best defensive player in the league every season for the next 15 but I don't think he's not getting the DPOY more than half of those seasons and I think Tou will be right there with him as a guy who can defend the perimeter and the post better than anyone else... I think he has that in his future.

There's a very real chance we are a top5 defense. I can't think of a Blazer defense this good in a long, long time. Aminu, Harkless, and Ed Davis were great individually but none of those 5 man groups were good as a whole - those 3 just made them solid. The Wes/LMA/Batum/Rolo group was very good defensively but the bench was horrific and Dame/Mo Williams/etc were major holes in all lineups. Maybe the Rasheed or Drexler teams but they were more of a very nicely balanced offense/defense than they were a truly elite defense.

Scoot defense has been very impressive at times as well as the 8 rotation level players you list. Sharpe is the only "weak" link of rotation players on defense and has flashes where he has been okay. Hopefully Sharpe can improve on that end - easy to forget he was only 21 at the end of last season.

it's on CB to help them succeed collectively. His Pistons team with Hamilton Prince and the Wallaces won because of their defense. He needs to incorporate modern (three point defense) strategy. Sharpe can be only average defender so long as he scores 30 nightly efficiently

    you're homering a bit here

Dyson Daniels, Amen Thompson, & Evan Mobley were all 1st team and they are younger than Camara; they won't be going anywhere. Jalen Williams is younger too and Jaren Jackson is the same age. The only one of the 10 all-defense players that will age-out is Gobert. And Wemby wasn't one of the 10. The notion that after Wemby the runway to DPOY is clear for Toumani is not credible

So will Clingan. The Blazers will have a good problem on their hands.

No one to dribble out of a trap though. No ball handlers in that lineup either.

Tisse and Mirray for a legitimate shooter.

I don’t see either of those guys having significant minutes next season. Unless they get rid of Grant.

They still need a legitimate movement shooter off the bench. Cronin doesnt seem to think so.

I just don't see where they fit.

    Guard - 96 minutes
    Jrue - 32 minutes
    Scoot - 32 minutes
    Shae - 32 minutes

    Forward - 96 minutes
    Tou -32 minutes
    Deni - 32 minutes
    Grant - 32 minutes

    Center - 48 minutes
    Clingan - 28 minutes
Yang or Rob - 20 minutes

And that's how many minutes those guys SHOULD be getting at guard and forward. But you're probably right, a few of those minutes will be peeled off for Thybulle or Murray. But not many. Not enough to really play someone who will have enough shots to affect our offense.

This just goes to show if we get any assets offered for Thybulle we need to trade him. He is like our 9th man. We aren't going anywhere next season with the roster as is.
