Yeah I don't think summer league matter very much for guys like Flagg who have dominated at very high competition levels.

Yang has basically just played at a high school level with a few very brief other international appearances. The way he moves and fits in with summer league will tell us much more than anything else we've seen. Its only a 5 game sample so it doesn't define him, and yes often bigs roles are different. But his performance can be an indicator.

15 hours ahead of PT... so starts 11 am Saturday.

Maybe your thinking of Europe. In the UK it will be 4am.

The guy was drafted at #16, which they admitted was a bit of a reach. He wasn't #1 or #2. He won't be a starter or even the first center off the bench. Yet, armchair GM's think he has to dominate or he's a failure. Thank God the powers that be will probably give him beyond the summer league before they give up on him. Hell, Jermaine O'Neal took several years to develop. At least he made it past SL.

Does anyone actually think he needs to dominate? I read it as people that may want to trash the pick are working to build that strawman argument they can later "prove" wrong.

I think centers usually suck in summer league.

Clingan was very good last year.

He also won B2B national titles. He was able to play from day 1 as a rookie.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Yang needs to ride the bench the whole season just to get used to the NBA competition level. That might be the case even if he is a good NBA player long term.

If Yang is good from day 1 that would be very promising though.

Who is your starting five? How about Bouknight, Love, Rupert, Sidy and Yang - Yes or No?

I only care about players on the Blazer roster - so yeah Yang, Rupert, and Love/Sidy in that order.

By far over the others super interested in Yang as there's so little competitive footage of him.

    Getting prepared to totally overreact!

Only draft picks they had last month were Alex Toohey at #52 and Will Richard at #56.

Jackson Rowe is on a two way for them.

Yeah kind of impressive they have such a shit roster. Seems like maybe they're waiting for Kuminga then Horford signing first then will fill out the end of their bench.

I'm prepared for Yang to have 1 pt, 1 rebound, 8 turnovers, 1 block, and 10 fouls.

And if he does better than that, I'll be very happy.
