You see, in Hansen Yang’s worldview—likely shaped by deep Confucian rotational ethics and perhaps even ancestral whispers from the late Qing dynasty—a teammate wearing a headband carries an unspoken Mandate of Heaven.

To don the headband is not simply a fashion choice—it is a sacred oath of perimeter integrity. So when said headband-wearer failed to rotate to the corner three, Hansen, channeling the spirit of a frustrated Manchu bannerman, had no choice but to shove him sideways like a disloyal eunuch in the Forbidden City.

    It wasn’t personal.
    It was dynastic.
    The headband had brought shame.
And Hansen was simply restoring balance to the Celestial Floor.

Great post! I saw some of that as well and it was so exciting to see.
And you are right about his heart. And his smile! If he plays well and is happy and continues to smile like he did last night, the Blazers might get overwhelmed with the media blowing up this year.

Says Jokic is his idol and he'll ask for his autograph when he plays against him for the first time lol.

Mentioned he enjoys it when the game gets physical and Billups told him to just have fun.

You could tell he welcomes the physical aspect of the game, based on his behavior, reactions and smiles right after a hit. There was one drive, he took it to the hole, got bumped and pushed through and the look of determination on his face reminded me of Bruce Lee's face when landing a blow.

I haven't been more excited about Blazer basketball since the wave!

One thing is very clear to me after watching him...... he is definitely not a second round pick. I'm not sure why so many draft analysts got that wrong. Was he worth the 16th pick? We shall see, but I don't think there's any way he would have slipped to the second round. He probably wouldn't have made it past Brooklyn.

We were smart enough to drop to get him. Depending on how he looks at 23, we might be giving this draft an A++ retroactively

Breaks down the good things Yang did in game 2.

at 6:56 "You're already seeing NBA defenses change the way they play because of Yang Hansen's ability to not only score, but pass, out of high pick-and-rolls."

then there's the fantastic pass at 7:45 when the defense denies the dribble hand-off.

Yang needs to be careful not to call out his teammates for not cutting to the basket, at least until he is a vet.. I realize he does not speak English so the only way to communicate on the court is with his hands. But player do not like to be shown up. Now, granted, when he did it last night it was harmless and the player will not be in the NBA. Nonetheless I saw how the Linsanity craze affected Jermey Lin. His teammates treated him like shit. I just want him to be careful because some NBA players can be assholes.

the concern is warranted but there's a line between looking arrogant and confidence and i prefer him to err on the side of being confident at the risk of being seen arrogant. It's a good trait of a leader

I thought about that when he shoved a teammate out to defend the three. Some guys aren’t gonna take that well.

If they can't handle it I don't want them on my team.

If they want to stand around doing nothing on offense or defense (or both) take it somewhere else.
