Exactly. Part of me feels it's their schtick. They play one side against the other for clicks. Then the other part thinks they actually are this out of sync.
I am absolutely all for letting you have your opinion. On this subject you are not alone about Joe Cronin. However I tagged that sentence because I'm wondering how you know this? You can say nobody knew that Lillard would get injured but after that injury there was obviously some consideration that team as assembled was going to change.
Welcome to the 24/7 news cycle, where everything in engagement farming and everyone's opinion (fake or otherwise) is monetized.
I'm not happy about it unless Dame is coming back as more of a mentor than player. I liked the idea of a roster with no weak links on defense and that just won't be the case with him in the rotation. I also don't want to go back to a slow pace that is last in the league in fast breaks and assists.
Yeah, he will need to adjust to their different style of play. But he will have almost a full year to watch it from the bench. One possible lineup off the bench would be playing next to Deni, Jrue, Tou, and Clingan.
several players have signed extensions that will pay them 60-70M in a salary. SGA will make 61M in 2027-28; and 66M the following season with a 71M salary the year after that but next season, Dame's apparent double-dipping leads the pack
then you should pay attention more. There have been discussion(s) lasting more than a year about using cap-space to extend Avdija before he becomes UFA in 2028. The only real chance Portland could have sufficient cap-space was 2026-27. It was a pretty small chance and the Blazers would have had to restrain themselves (and risk Camara becoming UFA in 2026); but that chance is gone after adding Dame's MLE deal I think it's always been inevitable Deni will be UFA in 2028. His contract is way too awkward. The more immediate issue is a Camara extension. I kind of expected it to happen this summer, but simmer isn't over
He follows a weird pattern though, and Knick fans are now seeing it. He arrives somewhere and he is a good shooter and he shoots a good volume. And then he just……. Stops. I love everything about Hart except for his weird aversion to shooting.
Do you have something youre referencing that you could share? The extension wouldnt just take place starting in 2028? They have Bird Rights so they wouldnt need cap space? Really confused about this so would like to see where its coming from.
ROFL imagine being unhappy about getting the greatest player your franchise has ever seen on an mle while fleecing Toumani, Deni, Jrue Holiday and 3 MIL picks post Giannis
He’s saying that we could have potentially had the cap space to offer Deni an extension sooner, but now we won’t so we have to let him go to UFA in 2028. Yes we will bird rights, but he can leave. The goal was to hopefully sign him before he goes to UFA. Only way to do that before 2028 was if we had cap space, which we now won’t have, because of the nature of his contract.
Yes but because he is a descending contract and he’s making peanuts right now, extensions are based on a percentage of what you’re already making. So they can’t offer him even close to what he would get in 2028 on the open market.
But this doesnt apply to rookie extensions so that's the post that's confusing to me. Is this a non-rookie contract extension thing?
