Fisher is in my top twenty "I can't stand that guy" list. Mostly because of the skill set he had wearing the Lavender and Urine. I hope he can teach that skill set to Scoot.
I've accumulated more than 200 coaching videos and probably 100 books from my years coaching. I still try to pick up some videos every year just to stay up to date on the latest training and strategy trends. Some of these trainers that you don't ever hear about are amazing teachers of the finer points and nuances of skills. These guys that teach NBA players are so precise in their areas of expertise. I always thought NBA coaches got a bad rap from people that thought college coaches were so much better as teachers of the game. I think it's the exact opposite. I think it shows because you have a lot more average pro coaches who have extraordinary success when they go to college than those that go the other direction. I think it's because with pro players there are so many other distractions and games and your time is limited and you really have to become expert at managing people who are making more money than you are and also at implementing gameplans and individual workouts while playing 82 games and traveling. The best teacher of the game or at least the best at imparting knowledge on the DVDs and doing the hour talk at camps that I ever saw was Hubie Brown. Brown had such a gift for making difficult concepts easy to understand and showing you things that you never thought about that made a difference in games. I always tell young coaches to invest in his videos and books because you'll learn things about basketball that, even if you played most of your life, you never dreamed up.
Good lord, I *still* hate that guy. No longer hate Kobe (and not because he died), no longer hate Shaq, Fisher, Magic, Scott, Worthy, Rambis, Kareem, Green, etc...but I still, to this day, hate that fucker Rick Fox.
There is a difference between being critical of the GM for moves that are mistakes, and commenting negatively about a guy clearly working hard on his weaknesses.

Indy has been impressive but that ownership is the worst in the NBA so again might depend where the line is. Bos, CLE, ATL, Hou, SAS, OKC, LAC, GSW, MIN all have pretty good arguments over PDX. Probably have to put LAL there just with stealing Luka and new owner big pockets. I really like some of Cronin moves but if our youth doesn't improve our roster suddenly isn't impressive at all.
I wouldn’t put GSW over us. This isn’t the same front office that built that contender. Their draft picks have sucked. They’re squandering the remaining years of Curry. What has SAS done besides luck into insane draft picks? They’re not good. They’re lucky.
GSW won that 2022 title and made moves to be great down the stretch last season. I think it's super impressive how long they've been in the mix. It's the same ownership and Dunleavy was an assistant GM before. It's impressive how they own all their future picks too. SAS have built a nice haul of picks. Got Fox for cheap. I think they're in position to make a contending leap at any moment. Plenty of franchises with a generational talent have screwed that up or been too impatient. I'm not saying all those teams are guarantees to have better management - just that they have a good argument that they do. The Blazers overpaid useless vets was a total waste of cap and many years of the rebuild. Dame trades were excellent though. Blazers youth progress will really determine Cronin and Blazers front office grade. A couple of them greatly improve and Blazers look like a bunch of genius's. They all flop and we might have to completely rebuild again in a few years.
