Funeral for murdered Minnesota lawmaker Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark also included memorial for their dog Gilbert. The golden retriever had been in training for rescue dog but couldn't make the cut because he was too friendly. So the Hortmans adopted him. Gilbert was shot several times trying to protect his humans and had to be euthanized. Urn containing his ashes was placed between the two coffins and an honor guard of 12 rescue dogs accompanied him to gravesite.
All dogs go to heaven. We had to put down Daisy Mae today. Our 11 year old lab. It happened suddenly while I was at work. My wife took her in and learned of a uterus infection. They said they could do surgery for $12k. She already had bad hip dysplasia and at nearly 12 years old she already out lived her expectancy. So she decided to put her down.
We had to put down, our my little buddy Murphy this evening 17 years. Terrier Knew it was coming but it still stings.
