I'm fine with the blazers' moves this offseason as long as it's clear that this is scoot/deni/camara/shaedon's team. it sounds like they (scoot/shae specifically) have a handful of months to make that point perfectly clear. the press conference was full of language that made the org appear muddled on whether the kids had the car keys or the olds. because the 'return to form' bit and 'i'm going to pour my heart into the younger players' messages had some cognitive dissonance for me. if dame comes back into any level of health, he's not going to want to come off the bench or play limited minutes.

I just don't think it is. I think Dame fully expects to start in 2026 and I don't see how they will be able to move Jrue after this season with that contract. I really wouldn't be surprised if they make an all-in trade if Dame ends up looking like his old self.

Not surprised at all. He had virtually no touch down there.

Since you apparently don't want to have actual conversations that's probably best.

What conversation is there to be had, honestly? You beat the dead horse. Over and over all year. Ants gone now. Shut the fuck up and move on. Sorry, it'll be Grant now. Looking forward to it!!!

It had nothing to do with Ant except he was in the way of Scoot and Sharpe. And it's turning out exactly as I said it would.

So great, Ant's gone. That doesn't fucking matter since Scoot and Sharpe have already lost seasons worth of development as lead guards.

Now we just have to hope they can get it right.

And yeah, if Grant keeps dominating the ball and killing the offense I'll be bitching about him as well. But at least he plays defense.

If Grant makes himself part of the offensive rather than trying to be the whole offense I'll have absolutely no problem with him.

i'm fine with that if the guy they get has a bunch of years left and can pair up with our younger guys. if it's someone in their 30s, woof.

Yeah that all kind of backs up my point. Jermaine was buried way more than Scoot/Sharpe but he turned out great. I think it would've helped the Blazers better correctly evaluate Jermaine if we played him. But I don't think him being benched harmed him at all long term.

Scoot Sharpe have played MUCH more and them not always being starters hasn't harmed them at all either IMO.

Blazers started Scoot day 1. It was a wreck. He was getting destroyed on both ends. He isn't like Luka/Trae/Edwards where he can come in day 1 as a rookie and contribute. He wasn't good at all like those guys.

It was much better to have Scoot play as a backup. Putting a young guy out as a starter and falling flat on his face could be way more damaging than having him be stuck a bit too long as a backup.

As I’ve said, they need to trade Scoot/Sharpe if they have no roll in Portland, just as they did with JO. He was traded for their “win now” player, Dale Davis. Since Portland is going all in with Grant, Jrue and Lillard as the older vets and Tou/Deni as younger players, get more win now players and do it right. They have picked a new lane. Fucking go all in. It is ridiculous to bury these guys like they did with JO. Sure, they played some, but management and CB are going away from them. Realize some value out of them while they still can.

And the fact that what is happening is exactly what I was saying I was worried about means nothing because you disagree with it.

    It's cool.

I just hope they're able to bounce back from it.

Sure, for a bit. But there are tons of guys you could have brought in to help take the pressure off.

Certainly don't play him behind Ant, who is also fucking up Sharpe's development.

Bring in a pass first point guard who plays defense.

WTF are some of you bitching about?

Scott and Sharpe with no confidence? What? Where?

Sharpe def has no confidence issues what are you guys smoking? He just had his best season, scored 18.5 PG, 4.5 REB, 2.8 AST, and put up monster stats towards the end of the season in stretches. All that for someone that just turned 22 with no college ball experience. Fuck you guys, or should I say a certain few, are always finding something dumb to bitch and complain about over and over.

Scoot played better last season too, but I think Scott got overwhelmed at times and was thinking too much out on the court. That happens with any young player and esp playing the PG position. It's not a confidence issue. Heck Scott hit a game winner last year for us.

Come on man, enough of this bs horseshit garbage again of posters finding little things to bitch about each week because they feel like stroking their ego with things like "just like I said would happen" when that's clearly false bs.

It's past dumb and annoying now. And none of the context is true, but hey it's the offseason so I guess some people must be really bored

I think there is a discussion to be had about whether or not the team should have really cleared the runway for Scoot and Shaedon by this point in their careers and given them the metaphorical keys to the team. They definitely didn't do that while Ant was here and I can't see it being their team having traded Ant away for a guy who will likely end up in the hall of fame and then bringing back Dame who some could argue is the greatest Blazers player of all time.

I still think there is a very functional path to helping Scoot and Shaedon reach their potential on this team while playing with guys like Jrue and Jerami. At some point it might make sense to either go all in with our young guys by trading Jrue and Jerami but I think it could go really well for everyone on this roster as is. Just get out there, ball out, make it about defense first, share the ball on offense and see how it goes.
