Around a month before next seasons schedule is released. With the changes in the league in the last few months, including injuries; what teams/matchups do you think the league will have on Christmas Day? 5 matches I think Spurs will be playing. Lakers will be Playing. Which means Dallas will probably be playing. Knicks will probably play But here’s one… Will we? Will Yang Hansen encourage the league to give the Blazers more Network broadcast games this year? Or potentially throw us in on Christmas as a filler against somebody like the Knicks or Spurs? I can see Lakers Vs Dallas just because of the Luka trade and Cooper Flagg. I could also see Dallas vs San Antonio Lakers vs Mavs Spurs vs Warriors Knicks vs Thunder Rockets vs Cavs Bucks vs Clippers Bonus: Over/Under 3.5 nationally televised games for the Blazers?
I don't think Blazers get Christmas Day - but I wouldn't be shocked if we did. If we did it would probably be opponent with big Asian population so NYC, GS, LA. There's a lot more national games this year with the new TV deal, after NFL season there's basically one every day and many double headers. I think we'll get 9 national games but that's probably equivalent to 4 on last year TV deal.
Actually I bet we do see Blazers on a Christmas Day game. League is going to want to expand the China marketing ASAP. Look at Yang summer league game already with more viewers than average playoff games. The last Christmas game is at 7:30pm PT timeslot which is 10:30am in China, on the 26th. Not sure how the holiday works there though. I was in Russia for Christmas/New years once. The 25th is a normal work day with everything open. Santa and New New years is on Dec31.... Christmas on Jan7, Old New years on Jan 14.
Posted it in another thread.... But 2000 era with Yao China GDP was 10% of the US. Today it's about 67%. So way more money available to the NBA. China has about 400 million NBA fans which is more than entire US population.
If the Blazers play at home Christmas night I am buying tickets. Feel like it could be a magical season.
FAMS…..just seeing Dame on the sidelines grabbing Scoot and Shae and talking to them during timeouts will be worth the price of admission. If we are losing I’m sure it will lose some of its luster, but what a great chance for these young bucks to soak up some knowledge from Dame and Jrue.
Having Dame mic'd up during the broadcasts will be "priceless of admission". WTF is "priceless of admission"? The lawnmower gasoline smell got to your brain today?
Idk why cause I don’t usually care this much but for some reason I’m interested to see these Christmas matchups. I’m probably going to get bored and look up the history of Christmas Day matchups. We haven’t had one for ages right? OKC probably had some back in the Durant days. No way we actually get a Christmas Day game. I think 9 might be too high of a guess. I’m still Keeping that O/U at 3.5 and maybe they will have 4 or 5, but they could only have 3. Maybe 4.5 would be a more reasonable line?
