While perceptions sure seem to have shifted, it would be surprising to have Yang listed as the best pick not named Flagg... give it a couple years and maybe. But given whats known now compared to back on draft day, how high would Yang go if the draft was held now? Pretty easy to see him going in the top 10... I'd put him at least 7th.

Yang has a long way to go like all rookies — in his case, stamina, strength, D …
His ceiling is high with his skills and connection/awareness on the court.
Too bad Brook Lopez isn’t on the team instead of TimeLord. BL could show how a large dude who isn’t uber athletic (and is older) plays good D and learned to hit the 3.

Per usual, BE with the clickbait, not many categories of that questionnaire fit him.

it was a questionnaire of "20 NBA executives' although there were no details on the execs

overall, I think the results probably match the draft+summer league. Yang showed some good things and he also showed weaknesses. He's had plenty of hype in Portland and the NBA & ESPN have been mindful of his potential impact in China. But the SL buzz outside of the Portland area didn't include Yang very often.

Flagg wasn't going to downgraded by a bad SL. Yang wasn't going to be upgraded by a good one, and really, his SL was a mixed bag

Hadn't thought of Bogut comparison before.

Obviously Bogut was a #1 overall pick and way better rebounder so not trying to say their the same.

But having some of the passing role and finding a way to defend effectively with slow foot speed is similar.

Marc Gasol is the other name I hear often that could be a good role model.

Kawhi to Portland for a bag of stale peanuts and cash considerations.

Yang looks most like Gasol passing-wise, at least what I've seen so far, there are no behind-the-shoulder or between-the-legs passes by Yang, just high-level, accurate passing.

Kawhi is interesting trade idea actually I never thought of before.... Would probably only be available if the clippers are real bad and far out of the playoffs. But being the oldest team in NBA history there's certainly a nonzero chance of that.
