pretty sure that recruits were able to sign their NIL deals starting August 1st which is why we saw a flurry of commitments both to Oregon and elsewhere around then. I suspect we're going to see a lot fewer flips of top talents because of this

That was where I was going. Money talks as they say. Kids are not watching a team while growing up and dreaming about playing someday for that college like I did. I know this is the Ducks thread but growing up for me I was watching OJ Simpson and thinking how cool it would be to someday play for USC. That obviously didn't happen and the "Juice" got squeezed but nonetheless that was a big thing in the 70's and 80's.

I still think the Oregon brand , facilities, uni's, does influence kids still in college selection. And winning program is key too. Now, with NIL its also is a key in acquiring blue chip recruits and/or veteran skill positions.

A few years back prior to NIL when only some schools were handing out bags of cash (SEC) it made sense that other schools that didn’t were lagging well behind in acquiring talent. That Oregon can now make a competitive offer allows the player’s decision to come down to other factors like quality of life. Now we’re all unique and value different things, but I’m not sure how much more I’d have to get paid to do my same job in Alabama but it would have to be a lot.

McNutt broke his leg and rumors of Dickey getting kicked off.

The nonconference game college basketball fans in the Northwest have clamored for is finally happening.

Oregon and Gonzaga are in negotiations to play at Moda Center on Dec. 21, a source with knowledge of the matter confirmed to The Oregonian/OregonLive. The source requested anonymity due to the game contract still being finalized.

Game time, ticket sales and television broadcast information will be announced later. The Big Ten has the broadcast rights to the game, according to a source, making it likely it will be broadcast on FOX or FS1.

That's an interesting look with Nebraska in there. Not sure they get by ND.
It's a prediction so you got to take it for what it's worth.

I miss the FarWest Classic I believe it was called. I remember going to that as a kid. Right after Christmas at the MC. Mini tourney with great teams. I believe Magic played in that and I know John Stockton did.
