Glad to see this resolved and glad the guy isn’t 90 years old. Looks like a real fan and I really like that he owns the Pickle Ball league. Dude has some interesting interests in sports I think he’ll be great for Portland

Question: What was the agreement when Sonics was initially sold. Is there like a verbal agreement that they will keep the Sonics in Seattle?

One good thing, he already cut his teeth on the Canes as a new sports owner. We don't have to go through those growing pains like the Suns are going through right now.... or the Kings.

He has a proven track record of taking a bad team and making them into a playoff team.

I'm probably one of the few people who have been through Kamloops. Didn't stop and see anything but drove through it on my way to another city.

Ballmer might not have always been the guy he is today when he was younger. He’s now got more fuck you money than most owners and is a rich kid in a playground. His kind of wealth I’d imagine would drastically change a persons life not that I’d know but man that guy is wound up in a good way

I would drive there, but then I realized it's like 9 billion miles from here. Or in terms a Canadian would understand, "it's like, you know, aboot as far away as Yellow Knife is to Moose Jaw, on the way through to the Hortons"

Question now to me is does he value Joe and Chauncey or will he shake up things

Yeah, guy seems ok at first glance, what he does with Cronin/Chauncy and staff will be really interesting. Wonder if he had any input on the draft and Dame?
Note; he apparently cleaned house quickly after he bought the Hurricanes

He removed GM Ron Francis almost immediately in Carolina, stating he wanted a more hands on approach

The agreement was for a year they would work on getting a new arena in place. It didn't happen so the new owner agreed to leave the name and history of the team with the city, but moved the team.

Surprised this happened so quickly. Was expecting for it to be at least the end of the year, if not the beginning of next.

Sounds like one hell of a businessman. Had his hands in a lot of investments. That he turned around a losing team quite quickly in the Hurricanes makes me hopeful.

He claims he will keep the Blazers here. I hope he sticks to that. He seems to be a hands on owner like Paul. I hope he knows basketball and will do what it takes to make us a winner here in the NW.

It will be interesting to see what he does as far as investing in a new arena and what he does with Joe/Chauncey.

I see he fired the Hurricane's radio guy. I hope Travis gets to stick around. Being a cost cutter, it will be interesting to see what decisions he makes there.

    I'm cautiously optimistic.

Thats an unknown. We may have several stars. Deni is a star. He isn't an all star but close to it, which makes him a star.
