If worst case scenario happened and Blazers moved out of state would you still root for them?

But if he is aware of them, then you are interested in pointing them out to him?

I love that the Raiders moved to Vegas. I prefer going there instead of Oakland if I want to vacation and/or go to a game.

But I am an Oregonian. The Blazers are our team. If they leave, I will 1000% lose interest. Just like all my buds in Seattle did when the Sonics left.

I’ll say it… I’d actually be depressed about it. I don’t know if it’s just illogical that having the team to follow and root for would be allowed to have such an impact on my happiness. But I think it does… I know I would be very bummed for a while.

I could see this forum being “apocalyptic” in style. I think that would be the only saving grace to what would actually be an incredibly unfortunate situation. I definitely don’t want to see it happen, and I know I can’t be alone in that. I’m not saying my life would be over, there would just be a massive void in it. I might even be a sucker and follow them just because in the moment it might feel better than not having a team. But I can’t help but feel like any success would be met with feelings of spitefulness or disapproval - at which point, are they really my team and am I actually rooting for them? If not then what am I doing?

I can’t picture myself being a Sonics fan and being happy that OKC just won the championship. I’d feel like it should have been Seattles, not OKC’s.

I voted "depends" and was going to post a joke.

Then I read the joke, and decided, "nah, that's not as funny as it was in my head."

So I changed it to "no,' with one caveat: There are several current players I would continue to root for.

No, I don't want to debate nor educate...if you will. Most people are seeking one of two things when they engage others for discussion.
One is seeking information, and the other is seeking confirmation. I believe Buffalo Springfield said, "Hooray for our side". I like to think
that was in reference to those seeking confirmation. When I was quoted, had the question been, "Which racist attitude are you referring to?
....rather than "What racist attitude are you referring to?....I might see it a little different. Thanks for asking, though.

This is me. I wouldn't 100% still be a fan, but depending on where it could keep me engaged with them. Hypothetically, if Atlanta (where I live) didn't have an NBA team and they moved to my backyard, that could be exciting and enough to stay a fan. Honestly, I might even be a bigger fan since they're close again to watch live on the reg. Now, if they moved to Vegas...that would be a no, but I also don't want to think about finding another team to root for. That also feels so wrong...

There is a team in Atlanta currently so the Blazers aren't moving there in the impossible scenario they leave Portland

What if they moved the team to Vancouver? Or to Bullwinkle's Restaurant?

No reason to at this point. Clay Bennett said all the right things and then moved the team to OKC before to ink was dry on the owners approval

Seattle could have saved that team but the City run him out of town. Hell Bellevue would have ponied up for a new stadium if Seattle leaders had played their cards right. Look at the ownerships that bailed on the Sonics before him.

Different times, different ownership and at that time another nw team still existed. I don't see any path where the nba leaves the nw market untapped.
