I think he has a point.

Simons off the bench as an impact scorer? Who ever would have thought such a thing?

This was the obvious choice, IMO. I was honestly shocked when there were reports that Simons would start.

Simons doesn't do anything aa well as Payton Pritchard.

It's like Joe Mazzulla has an S2 account and has been reading pretty much everything said about Simons for the last 2-3 years. Maybe Chauncey should hire someone from S2 as an assistant coach. Obviously @THE HCP is not filling him in.

Considering the 2026 draft is strong and 2027 is epically weak the best asset play in theory should be one more lottery year then make the playoffs after next season.

If you can, go read the comments on that tweet. Fans crucifying Kerr for not practicing. It's pretty much standard throughout the league. Wear and tear over time but I kind of agree. I feel teams should do film sessions and at least light practice sessions when they have two or three days off. Obviously on a B2B you don't have much time and with travel there are other issues. It seems to me that there are times players are sitting in their rooms in cities waiting for the next game. Maybe it's tough to get a place to do a small practice that doesn't have a bunch of fans all over it. Might be logistically a bad idea to try to practice while on the road at all.

I wish at the time we all could have just accepted him and appreciated him for what he was instead of lumping loftier expectations of needing him to become a star

    Agreed.

But, also in hindsight, we really needed him to become a star. That would have put us over the top.

Look at all the guys in the 80s/90s that career ended in their 20s because of injuries. Much prefer the rest teams do now.

Also kind of hilarious coming from Stockton who was one of the first starters to ever move to a 20mpg role so he could extend his career into his 40s. Duncan eventually did this as well.
