There were no open borders during Biden presidency. That was a right wing talking point. Inflation was worldwide post Covid. While still too high in 2024, it was declining without recession. This is how virtually all rich people justify supporting the tax cuts for the wealthy that Trump is bringing. Pretty much every rich business person that you talk to has the same perspective, in my experience. They don't know anything about the border, and they don't really care about inflation. I don't see anything beneficial coming out of this summit. Trump is negotiating the ceding of land belonging to another country in exchange for a cease fire? Putin will take the land, bolster his forces, then continue to attack Ukraine. Of course, he smiling. Putin holds all the cards. Trump is coming in from a weak position. I don't see how this will be a win for anyone other than Russia. Trump will claim it is probably. Putin will probably continue bombing Ukraine as soon as he is headed back to Russia in his plane.
Trump is going to negotiate a deal that is beneficial to him. Ukraine is not going to accept the deal since they are not involved in the negotiations and then Trump can blame Ukraine for not taking the best deal ever negotiated and walk away. It will be a Big Beautiful Deal for Trump and Putin.
Putin should have been taken away in handcuffs and tried in the Hague for crimes against humanity today...I would have cheered for Trump had he had the balls to do that.As it is, Putin succeeded in emasculating Trump on our own turf.
Trump loves the sound of his own voice but today he spoke for barely 3 minutes. He knows who his master is. Then with Putin gone, went in Hannity to say he gives himself ten out of ten because they got along so well.
