There usually is a reason people are protesting for race, gender or politics. To be able to say protesting over those items is a bad look is a sign of privilege.
Not sure how long you have been here, but Oregon consistently for many years had an issue with being a top destination to move to. If we lose some of those people, it's not a sky is falling scenario as you are making it out to be. The tax thing for City of Portland And Multnomah County....that has some to deal with a personal tax, which has income exemptions. Also, as I have already stated, PDX is now a market based sourcing jurisdiction. Do you know what that means?
Phil Knight has a devotion to charities and humanitarian needs. He just donated $2B dollars to OHSU which is an American record to a school.
Or Liz Cheney or even the late John McCain..this administation is fragmented with conflicting ideologies and there's hardly a pragmatic conservative remaining.
Yet the value of my house continues to rise and there are new restaurants and businesses constantly opening up in our area of town? How bout you put down your google machine….leave whatever cul-du-sac you live in and venture out and see for yourself how our city is doing.
For the most part, the people who are leaving Oregon are more conservative in nature. A significant % of those leaving are "sick of how Portland" dictates what happens in the state. Mostly because they have a fundamental lack of understanding how populations work.
Just came back from dinner with my wife and brother downtown by the park blocks….. beautiful night out. But if you actually LIVED in Portland you’d know that.
