Imagine finding out that past our known history humanity or humanoid aliens built basically a ferry going to and from Earth to some cluster of habitable planets. That it’s just now making its return, empty, beckoning humanity to board it, enter some sort of stasis or cryosleep, and travel to somewhere where we can only guess where it is, what it looks like, or how long it will actually take to arrive. Are you boarding it with the millions or maybe even billion of other Humans doing so? Or staying on Earth? Theres an interesting movie plot here… Better than that one with Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence.
US, Russia, and China would all be in a race to claim it and scrap it for technology and weapons. And as soon as one country got in it, the others would try to destroy it. If they couldn't destroy it, they would nuke the country that had it.
I'd be willing to bet that the ICE thugs and thugettes are getting chubbies and moisture over the thought of being the first jackboots to deport extraterrestrials. Of course JD Vance will expect them to waltz off the saucer wearing suits and ties and will try to send them packing if they are so disrespectful as to dress casually. We can only hope they will then reduce him to a pile of ash just by pointing a finger.
