Since, this is a very active forum. I'll post it in here.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>September 11, 2006Branch tradedThe Deion Branch holdout is over, but Branch isn?t returning to the Patriots. Branch, the fifth-year receiver, has been traded to the Seattle Seahawks for a first-round draft choice today. The 5-foot-9, 193-pound Branch was entering the final year of the five-year contract he signed as a rookie in 2002. Unhappy with that deal, he held out of training camp. Then, in late August, the Patriots gave Branch permission to negotiate with other clubs, and the Seahawks and Jets made contract offers. But a trade with New England couldn?t be consummated by the Patriots? imposed deadline of Sept. 1 and Branch remained with the Patriots.Branch and his representatives then filed two grievances against the club. The grievances hadn?t been heard before today?s trade.</div>
Wow, I'm shocked that they parted with a First Round Pick for Branch.....Seahawks better go 14-2 now to make it a nice and late pick. :glare:

He is a very good player, but not the kind of guy who deserves a first round pick in compensation. Especially after the bridge had been burned between Branch and the Patriots and there was little to no chance of him returning to New England, they should have been lucky to still get a Second Round pick offered to them. But Seattle chose to overpay for him anyways.....

Alexander, Hasselback, Branch, DJax. That's a helluva offense.THeir defense is pretty good too.Super Bowl loser curse is over.
He's a good WR but he's not worth a first. Well what do you expect from the team that payed Nate Burleson $49 Mil. I bet that BB is laughing has ass off, now they can draft a WR with even more talent.

Calvin Johnson is the only player that I can imagine not needing a transition period. Reason being, he's already playing with a no name quarterback. He basically will know how to go on a bad team and do his thing grabbing passes from a quarterback that is hardly as good.Dwyane Jarrett has had Matt Leinart and John David Booty. Ted Ginn has had Troy Smith who is improving as a passer.Ask someone to name the Georgia Tech quarterback and they wouldn't know. Unless they watched the ND game.
