Teams carried more than 12 - guys would just have "back spasms" for months so they could be on IR.

When I watch something like this I'm even more convinced that NBA players today are lightyears better than decades ago. Pete was a superstar back then - I'm not buying he would be one at all today.

I'm good with moving on from Ant but some of the criticism is ridiculous.

Put Ant with 4 great two way starters and they totally could contend. Plenty of crappy players have won titles. It's not hard to be a starter with multiple hall of famers and great bench players.

Mario Chalmers was a starting PG that won back to back titles.

Yeah, the idea that those guys back then would even know what to do with an athlete with the length, talent and skill of Durant is pretty ridiculous. Just saying that guys in the 80s and 90s would just beat him up is even more ridiculous. How would guys that had no idea how to handle Reggie Miller be able to take KD out of games?

Mario Chalmers was a good defender and shooter. Kind of like Derek Fisher.

If Ant were as good a defender as Chalmers he'd probably still be a Blazer and we may well have made the playoffs last season.

Mario Chalmers was a much better all around basketball player than Ant.

To Bad, Ive enjoyed her round ball commentary. I thought she was very professional and articulate.

I think she is pretty good, better than many of them. Better than Jefferson. But I don't think she is great. So I have no problem with her being moved down. I thought Leger did a pretty good job, but we will see once we hear him all the time. It's a tough gig, and I think we tend to get tired/bored with the same commentary over and over.

If Avery Johnson and Mario Chalmers can do it, Ant can do it.

I think they all kinda suck.

I like the play by play for the most part, but the color commentators are all very boring.

You just listed two guys who are very good defenders when you were comparing them to Ant.

Both of those guys were far superior basketball players to what Ant has shown thus far in his career.

Ant will have to drastically improve on the defensive side of the ball if he ever wants to be on their level.

And if he does that then I will be incredibly happy for him. And if he did that then maybe he could luck into one of those situations. That would be awesome.

Have DRob and Duncan on his team and Ant would also look like a good defender. Same with playing with LeBron, Bosh, and Battier. Ant would look good playing with them too.

Not the way he plays defense now. Maybe they would force him to play better defense. But he simply hasn't done the job on the defensive side of the ball.

Also, those guys were completely different than Ant in that they were complimentary players who made their teammates better.

    Not Ant at all.

I'm sorry, but Ant would have to completely change his game to fit with any of those players.

He's just not good enough at the right things.

Ridiculous. Defense is a team effort. Spo and Pop would’ve made it work with Simons . Avery and Mario aren’t spectacular individual talents/defenders. They just happened to play on great defensive teams.

Defense is not only a team effort. They were good defenders on all the teams they played on. I didn't say spectacular. I said good. They were respected as quality defenders.

Ant has never been a good defender. Not even "not bad" or "meh".

They both also played a very "unselfish" and complimentary style of offense. Either acting as a distributor/floor general, or as an off the ball 3pt threat while the stars dominated the ball.

Ant doesn't fit any of that. If he did we could have probably kept him.

He may decide to transform himself into a more valuable player. That would be cool. But guys don't typically do that after 7 or 8 seasons in the league.
