The school shooter in Minneapolis legally changed their name from Robert to Robin, so the anti-trans bullshit on social media is ramping up. Combine that with the Kill Trump written on the gun, and it's getting really ugly.
And I know, changing a name doesn't mean someone was or wasn't trans. But there are some who are going to use this to hurt your community.
Oh that. All of Trump’s would be assassins were conservative hahaha! Yeah I’ll stay safe. And yet they were mad about some republican losing? Weirdly out of character but rednecks gonna redneck I guess.
Self-hating conservatives do the worst things. This person didn’t shoot up a school because they were queer, they did it because they were conservative and this shit is what conservatives do when they run out of hope: they hurt other people.
Trump’s DOJ considering banning trans people from buying guns https://nypost.com/2025/09/04/us-news/trumps-doj-considering-banning-trans-people-from-buying-guns/
One option could see Trump formally declare that people who identify as transgender are mentally ill and are not legally allowed to possess firearms, one Justice official told CNN.
In Trump's first term, one of the first things he did was overturn regulation prohibiting people with mental illness from buying guns.
Politics makes strange bedfellows indeed. Ultraconservative gun advocates joining with LGBTQ community to support right of trans people to bear arms.
This should make the left happy, right? I mean, that's fewer guns to hurt people... Or maybe we should only be restricting people who have actually committed violent crimes? Just a thought...
A piece of good news. In Hong Kong, courts for the first time recognized same sex partner as legal parent of her partner's biological child.
Good news for a change? https://www.nytimes.com/live/2025/09/10/us/trump-news#supreme-court-transgender-bathroom
Student at Texas A&M challenged professor during discussion on gender and sexuality, saying it was illegal because Trump declared there are only two genders and besides what teacher said was against her religion. Teacher said student free to leave. Student then demanded college president fire teacher. President said no, BUT ordered review of all courses. Said professor would be spoken to about going outside scheduled curriculum. This isn't third grade. College classes frequently go outside scheduled curriculum to follow points of interest. Turns out student was secretly recording professor and ran to right wing media, who now demand professor be fired.
I had a professor at PSU who said, on the first day, "you don't have to attend my class, but know that the final will be on what I said in my lectures, not what the history book I assigned to you says". No one complained. Well, that's not true, some twerp showed up for a few classes and failed the final because he went off of what was in the book. In retrospect, it was a god awful boring class (and I loved history at the time).
To me as a student it was most interesting when a question or comment took professor off lecture. Obviously they need to cover course material but if something said in a lecture interests a student enough to ask a serious question (not Trump said only two genders), made class more interesting.
