Our political system sucks. It's not here for our benefit. It is designed to extract as much from us as possible. We're not going to fix anything until we get thet figured out. Anything we care about will just be used to manipulate us. We're broken, and we have been since Citizens United. If not before...
Shooter used a rifle, shotgun and pistol. What are you suggesting would have prevented this shooting? You're totally justified to be mortified. I feel the same. What would you suggest be done?
Aside from giving condolences that's all that can be said. It's the truth. You try to go further on gun control you're just going to push more people to vote for the next wacko. And everything will be worse for everyone, and gun control still won't be meaningfully expanded. There are real solutions which can make a big impact, but nobody is going to feel better about their kid being shot regardless of what is done. You just as well be logical and address the things which could actually be solved.
Nobody can have anything good, lest people to whom nothing bad has ever happened decide to vote for a literal fascist because you hurt their feelings and told them they need to change one (1) thing about their life.
Trump’s DOJ considering banning trans people from buying guns https://nypost.com/2025/09/04/us-news/trumps-doj-considering-banning-trans-people-from-buying-guns/
That moment when Trump voters (the dumbest fucking people ever created on earth. You Shall always be shunned for being a racist bigot) realize that CIS white men are the leading offender of gun violence. Remember if youre a Trump voter youre the most racist and bigoted person alive, and far too fucking stupid.
First they came for the trans people's guns, and I did not speak out, because I figured anything that weakens the 2nd amendment is a step in the right direction. barfo
Unfortunately people don't have the respect for government to think it through that way. They see the government coming down on their rights excessively and not doing much for them otherwise and so they vote against them.
By the people, of the people, for the people. If the people think government is shit, they should ask themselves why they are shit. barfo
Tell them to support better politicians who don't accept large donations and support proven policy like universal education, universal healthcare, education rather than restitution based legal system, etc.
[Stay Tuned with Preet] Guns, Law, and the Culture War (with John Feinblatt and Adam Winkler) #stayTunedWithPreet https://podcastaddict.com/stay-tuned-with-preet/episode/206443892 Guns, Law, and the Culture War Programming Note: This conversation was recorded on Monday, 9/8, before the horrific and tragic killing of political activist Charlie Kirk. Gun violence is among the leading causes of death for children and teens in the United States. News of yet another mass shooting breaks almost weekly. And still, gun reform remains fiercely partisan. It is indeed a cultural flashpoint in a country that feels as divided and polarized as ever. This week, Preet is joined by John Feinblatt, the President of Everytown for Gun Safety, and Adam Winkler, a constitutional scholar and expert on the Second Amendment to discuss whether gun culture is changing for the better, whether legal reforms are making any progress, and whether the private sector can step up in the face of political deadlock. Then, Preet answers your questions about the U.S. Marshals Service, Health Secretary RFK Jr.’s Senate testimony, and advice for hopeful law students who fail the bar exam. In the bonus for Insiders, Preet, John, and Adam discuss U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro’s decision not to federally prosecute individuals for carrying rifles or shotguns in D.C. Listen Here
We’re now out of the “was there a shooting today” era, firmly in the “how many shootings were there today” era
