I'm even more hyped for the start of the season this year than previously. Where is the announcement for the Fan Fest? Seems a little odd that the date hasn't dropped yet. It must be imminent, I would imagine. I've been to a few of these and have always enjoyed seeing the team with new additions to the roster and it's kind of a novelty to be able to go to the arena for free and sit where you want. The scrimmage is kind of fun to watch. You can feel the excitement and energy from the players as they prepare for another season (or their first) and it just amps me up. This year should be especially big since Dame is back and will undoubtedly be the one leading the hazing of the rookies, chosing the songs they sing or whatever. And speaking of Dame, it will be cool to hear whatever little speech he has to give to send a message to the fanbase about the direction this team is going. Moda is going to start humming loud and I want to be there for the start of this thing. This year is a HUGE year. How does everyone else feel? Speculation on why it hasn't been announced? Or am I jumping the gun by a few days or hours? It feels like in years past, it gets announced in early September or even late August...right? I can't quite remember. Anyway, just feels very late. My wife (bless her heart) is actually very worried and antsy about it).
I don't have any info about fan fest but maybe @SlyPokerDog will know or even @THE HCP Great post! I'm excited for this season too. I'm really hoping to see a big jump forward from Shaedon and maybe even Scoot. I just want to see the same level of play from Tou and Deni as they ended on last season but maybe they'll be a little better too. I'm hoping that Jrue can return to form, that Jerami is playing better and I'm really excited to see what our two huge centers play like and if Rob can stay healthy (not the most likely thing). Will Donovan make some progress on offense and could he get better at defense? Will we see starting level ball out of Yang at any point this season? Can Rob stay healthy long enough for a team that needs a backup C to overpay?
Thank you! Yes, there are lots of what-ifs and many storylines to follow this year. The one I am excited about the most? Yang. A lot of people are saying it will take him a few years too adjust to the NBA and become a good player, but I counter that he's already been playing as a pro for a few years and shown what he can play like. Yes I know the Chinese professional league is not the same as the NBA, but I think his adjustments will be made very quickly. He's young and strong and has extremely high IQ. People talk about his summer league play and mostly positives but there are some naysayers who call out his mistakes and focus on them. I pose this, can you imagine once he starts playing with the starters and high rotational blazers teammates? It's going to be insane. I know people think I'm crazy, but I see him surpassing Jokic. There's just something about the way that he plays and I think he has more potential with his higher level offensive abilities plus the similar supportive abilities.
Also, they don't tend to announce the fan fest this early. They didn't announce last years until the 25th or so of September.

I did Google, gracious and kind sir! That was the point of the topic. And I also stated how I wasn't sure if it was just about to be announced or if I was was jumping the gun with worrying/wondering. Mostly my topic was to discuss the fest and the excitement for the season. It's too early for the Fall rains to set it, but thanks for trying hard to rain on my parade anyway! I miss the rain, actually!
