100%. Starts with our youth. Children are now indoctrinated to social media through their phones. We cant take their phones away, they must be able to communicate with family and during emergencies. But what about restrictions? We have them for driving and drinking. What about those under 18 are not legally allowed to own or operate smart phones? They must use flip phones that can still record and take photos, but removes the social media sites. Same for computers and tablets. Is that something that could be constitutional and a serious option for further discussion and investigation? Children’s brains are not equipped to deal with the amount of aggression and hatred that is all over social media right now. This is one of the few major obstacles I believe we have, as a people, that MUST be resolved in order for us to not dive into complete chaos of some massively bloody form. 1) restrict social media content from minors. 2) get corporate donations out of politics alltogether 3) have stricter fcc regulations forcing media news outlets to report the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. 4) Love one another. Individually, in our daily interactions with people. Say hello and smile to the person you cross paths with on the sidewalk. Ease off the gas and let the person merge instead of gunning it and not letting them in. Hold the door open for the people walking out of the store or into the restaurant as you enter or exit. its these little things that I find gives me more and more peace, because its almost always reciprocated in kind. And the sooner we spend less time eviscerating each other online and more time spreading kindness in the real world, the sooner i think the first three can be conquered, because of the growing unification of positivity.
Interesting concepts. AI has become a problem too. 3/4 of the stuff on social media is fake and people are falling for it. Also bots, that needs to be taken care of.
I was reading up and thinking about this. Yes. Tragic to die in front of your family and friends like that, but how he died, seemed very quick and likely painless. It sucks he couldn't have those final moments with loved ones, but the suffering im pretty sure was minimal. In that regard, i could think of many worse ways to die. sharks and alligators come to mind.
Sharks and alligators are fairly quick. Being tied down and eaten by seagulls or army ants would be worse. barfo
Leave it to a pirate to know true torturous demise. Pirate ship rats under a bucket on your belly… forever.
Im fascinated by the thought that because one speaks their opinions they cannot be called a name. Having an opinion does not free someone from receiving criticism.
