A bunch of Beavers fans? I think you are overestimating how many Beavers fans there are on this forum. Its probably 80 - 20 Ducks to Beavers fans because people are generally Beavers fans if they went to school down there and Ducks fans are people that went to school there or didnt go to school there.

Someone needs to create a poll. No way it is even close to 80-20....but I am guessing

There is me, @tlongII @BoBoBREWSKI . Who else? Go look in the Beavers threads versus the Ducks threads. Honestly there seem to be more Ducks fans posting in Beavers threads.

Also, what I stated was true. Beavers fans more often than not actually went to school there. Ducks fans gobble up everyone else.

There was very little resume building upside in this game for UO no matter how it played out... or for that matter the first 4 games. The downside would have been getting banged up going into next weeks game which it seems was avoided. I liked how after the Beaver TD in the 1st they focused more on establishing the run & thought Hughes showed some of his best stuff of the year. That said, here's hoping Noah is back next week from whatever has been ailing him.

Going into the season, the roster was thought of as deep with talented players throughout with biggest question mark at QB. With the tuneup games now over, Dante looks like he's their best player. Those sideline throws to the outside shoulder have been incredible. Here's guessing both Penn State and Oregon ratchet up their focus & play considerably next week.

No idea if you're correct with this or where you're pulling this from. I've been active in Duck discussions here for decades but generally whether a poster went to Oregon or not isn't discussed.

Living in Oregon. Ask Anyone that says they are a Ducks fan.

It has been discussed some in this forum. For instance HCP did not go to Oregon.

I know many Beaver fans that didn't go there. Hell, I'm a Beaver fan who didn't go there. You know what they say about assumptions...

well I did....but...when I did, Dan Fouts, Bobby Moore (Ahmad Rashad), Leland Glass and Tom Graham were on the football team; Stan Love, Bill Dozdiak, and Larry Holiday were on the basketball team (Holiday was a poor man's version of David Thompson); And Steve Prefontaine, the Kvalheim brothers, and Mac Wilkins were on the track team. I was still around town when Dick Harter took over the BB team and brought in Ron Lee and Greg Ballard; when Rich Brooks took over the football team and suffered back-to-back 2-9 seasons

I was in Mac Court in 1970 when Oregon knocked off #1 UCLA in 1970...while they were on the way to yet another championship. And there again 4 years later when the Ducks beat Bill Walton and #1 UCLA again. Scoreboard was shaking both times. I was in Autzen stadium for a lot of memorable wins...and forgettable losses

fortunately I was in Alaska so I wasn't in Autzen for the 1983 Oregon/OSU 0-0 Toilet Bowl. Misery avoided

but I'd imagine you're right that there are a lot more Duck fans that haven't attended than Beaver fans. That's because of the TV exposure for the Harrington years, the Chip Kelly offenses, uniform combos, and on-field successes. Oregon's 25 year branding campaign has paid off big time; it's a main reason why the Ducks are in a P4 conference, and OSU isn't

I attended OSU but I back both teams because like you it was a long time ago and I never got the point of talking down an Oregon school.

I didn't go to OSU (proud Clackamas CC Cougar Alumni) but I've been a Beaver fan for most of fifty years, if for no other than I have always had an affinity for the underdog. OSU was so bad for so many years, someone (other than the student body) had to root for them. Tickets were virtually free and good seats were everywhere. And, being a masochist I was one of the clowns who thoroughly enjoyed Pettibone's wishbone offense (when they could make it work/keep the guys who could run it healthy). Even Kragthorpe's teams could light it up once in a while. My fandom was helped by having a hard core Beavs fan as a brother in law, and another one as a neighbor.....and then moving across the alley from Al Reser's sister. Those years were the gravy train, both in terms of quality football teams and quality access for this particular fan. I will always be a Beavs fan and it really, really hurts to see them falling on such hard times. That said, I still root for the Ducks every time they aren't playing the Beavs.....

Didn't attend either school. I root for the Ducks because they have the best chance of bringing a chip to the state. If the teams/rankings were flipped, Id root for the Beavs.

Instead of college I went overseas and killed people.
BUT, everybody in my family and wife’s family went to UO. I attended basketball and football games down there my whole life. I know for a fact I bleed green and yellow. Shit, I just had lunch this week with UO great Terrell Benadon.
Kids from LA who have no tie to the school other than sociology classes and frat parties for 48 months of their lives got nothing on me son.
That said, I’ve rooted for the Beavers in every athletic contest my whole life as long as they aren’t playing my Ducks.

Kind of like that movie Rudy. How that family is SO invested in everything Notre-Dame even though they didn’t attend.

Is he related to Grant HS great Terrell Brandon  A great thrill in my college days was getting matched up on him in a pick up game. I was used to dominating that run, but he disposed of me with ease and then was a total class act thanking me for the game. Obviously dude is a great guy. A sequence where he shook me and then rose up for a J at the FT line where his waist was above my head left me dumbstruck. Dude averaged like 28 PPG that year in the Pac10

I wasn't really impressed by Oregon line play on either side of the ball.
