I loathe Trump from the bottom of my soul, but James Fucking Comey is THE reason we are in this death spiral. I expect he will be acquitted (if it's actually a fair trial) but I can't help but take great pleasure in the inconvenience and discomfort this is going to cause him, Donald Trump be damned.
I totally agree Comey is no hero. I remember 2016. After Access Hollywood, prominent Republicans called for Trump to be removed from ticket. Evangelicals called for Pence to quit. Campaign in disarray. Soft Trump voters turned away. Undecided voters thinking they maybe didn't like Clinton but at least she would behave with decorum, not embarrass the country. Looked like not just a win but a wipeout. Then 10 days before election Comey announced another investigation into emails. Which found nothing. Against Department of Justice policy against election interference. Against recommendation of Attorney General to not publicly announce. And everything flipped. Trump, lifelong grifter and con man, became the honest trustworthy candidate. Yeah, fuck Comey. But don't you realize why he was the first indicted rather than, say, Adam Schiff? Because so many of us choke on defending him Defend rule of law.
