even tho im a lions fan...a big one, they are completely pathetic....the only player on the team that can tackle is ernie sims.....a rookie...the offense is capable, anddoes goodat times, but once they get something going, a turnover comes along....the defense is awful, and its already time to "look forward to next year" which im sick of doing and im sure other ppl are too
I made an EXTREMELY bold prediction picking them for the NFC North, but you can see flashes of what I was expecting..The offense is completely functional at times, just needs some help up front..And I think the defense is just a few players short of being at least solid. Chicago is WAY too good to dethrone, probably for a while, but it's not like your franchise is completely hopeless
From what I saw of the game today, the Defense seems to be the main problem. Obviously the turnovers on Offense didn't help, but the Vilma Interception was off of a tip, and Kerry Rhodes made a spectacular play for his interception. I cant really fault Kitna for that as he made good decisions for the most part. Defensively though you guys were awful, A ton of penalties defensively that allowed the Jets to keep some drives alive, and a complete inability to stop the run really hurt you guys (although alot of that has to do with Shaun Rogers being out probably). Ernie Sims and Daniel Bullocks both impressed me Defensively though, which is a good sign when your top 2 Draft Picks are contributeing under a new regime, as that's a step in the right direction.
The homer and fan in me wants to think that progress is being made..but so many years of this shit makes it hard. The worst part now is not only do they suck..but they are a disgrace. Millen is a a douche. Picking a WR every year made us look silly. Charles Rogers being a doper was a great thing. Our coach driving naked and drunk was a great story for the team. Roy Williams sayin we were so close to 40 points it was disgusting when they couldnt even score was a great thing to say. And Now Shaun Rogers is gone for 4 games because he is taking banned substances. And before that he told the entire defensive side of the ball to stop talking to the media..which was ridicilous.I go to all of the home games, and even get there at 10AM, 3 hours before the game to tailgate. Been a fan my entire life. But I am getting fedup here. When will it end? I love KJ and ROy for the future on the offensive side of the ball. But you have ZERO dudes who can block on the O-line. How many years have we had that problem. FIX IT. Our defensive future looks nice, but right now they aren't getting it done AT ALL. They were a much better bunch last year. I don't think Henderson is gonna last long as Defensive Cord...he isn't doing anything...we've gotten worse.

I have a feeling that his 'Tough Love' style of coaching Isnt being very well taken by some of the more lazy players in Detroit and that that's the cause of the lack of improvement. If that's the case though, no coach is going to get that current cast of players to play, so it might be just about time to completely overhaul that Defense to get some more coachable players in there. Just my opinion though.

We're too young, we need more veteran leadership, we only have a handful of players over 30, inexperience is whats killing us.
