<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2637905Tony Romo apparently will get another shot to prove he deserves to be the Cowboys' starting quarterback.A Cowboys source told ESPN's Ed Werder that quarterback Drew Bledsoe has been informed that Romo will be the Cowboys' starting quarterback against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday night</div>
I like the change since Bledsoe has proven ineffective. I do not believe Romo is the answer for the future however. Romo is a gunslinger, much like Brett Favre but does not have nearly the same strenght behind his throws. I would bet Bledsoe is gone after this season if Romo is going to finish the season so getting a QB during the offseason will be a necessity. I would prefer they look for the future franchise QB and try to get someone like Quinn from ND.

Your better off starting to look at the JaMarcus Russell (LSU), Brian Brohm (Louisville), Drew Stanton (Michigan St.), and Troy Smith (Ohio St.) group which will be closer to where you guys are drafting if you dont feel that he is the answer.

I would not mind it if they made a trade to move up for Quinn but I don't see that happening. Brohm or Stanton could be good options later in the first as well as some of the other guys you mentioned as well as Palmer in later rounds if they feel like taking a year or two to develop them.

I don't see him at all. But this is all depending on who the Cowboys coach will be. That's the key!

It all depends on who the coach is....I would assume if its going to be one of Parcells discliples that either Stanton or Brohm would be the guy, depending on where the Cowboys draft, and if Brohm declares.

This is also barring that Romo does OK. Meaning if he can win a few games now. But Dallas will draft a QB but also I would be surprise if Jerry Jones try to bring in Atlanta's backup - Schuab!

Either way, its probably a moot point though, as Bill Parcells is on his way out IMO.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (JHair @ Oct 30 2006, 01:47 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>What a difference just a little more mobility can make behind center</div>Exactly. Romo looked really great but I want to know just how good he is before jumping on the band wagon. He had a few mistakes, mainly in the first quarter, but seemed to do better as the game went on. I think he just needed to get his nerves settled down and get into the flow of the game. The Cowboys should still draft a QB on the first day, 1st if Romo goes downhill from here or 2-3 if he still does okay. The reasons are to give him competition in camp and since Bledsoe is sure to be gone after the season, the Cowboys will need, at the very least, a good backup.
