On Rome is Burning he just said that the Falcons might be trading Vick to the Raiders for a package of draft picks.I don't want Vick goin against my Broncos twice a year.
Well, he can't be until the end of the year. And besides, Oakland sucks enough, why add another crappy player?
1. If either team were ACTUALLY talking trade right now, they would both have to give up draft picks as a penalty for breaking the rules.2. The cap penalty would be too huge of a hit to the Falcons, they would have to pull a Titans and run on league-minimum players for a year.3. Michael Vick is the most valuable player in the NFL. Maybe not in terms of wins, but in terms of ticket and merchandise sales. No single player makes his franchise more money OFF the field than Michael Vick.4. All that said, putting him with Randy Moss wouldn't be a bad idea, if it were feasible.
It has no chance of happening. The potential cap hit from Tradeing Michael Vick would completely bust their salary cap where they would need to cut half of their roster in the process just to get under the cap.

Their WR core were all mid-late first rounders who get signed to reasonable contracts. Most of their money is being paid to pricey veterans like Rod Coleman, John Abraham, Patrick Kerney, Edgerton Hartwell, Keith Brooking, and of course, Michael Vick with high signing bonuses that make it not feasible to cut them either.Between his restructures, and the rediculous contract that was offered to him by the Atlanta Falcons, he would cause somewhere around 20-30 million in dead money on their cap, making it impossible for them to do anything. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Falcons' star quarterback signed a 10-year; $130 million contract extension that guarantees him an NFL-record $37 million in bonuses, and he wants to prove he's worth every penny.</div>

I thought week 6 is the trade deadline</div>For this year....in theory I guess they could start discussing an offseason trade though. Especially since the Raiders arent exactly playing for anything.
My point was, Vick would cut a hell of a lot off as well. I know they have guaranteed money involved, but I'm sure Oakland will agree to pay something toward that.

They're not going to take 20-30 million in 'dead money' just to get rid of him. That would be suicide under the NFL's current system.
The only way this would ever be possible is if Vick did what Randy Moss did. Renegotiated his contract prior to the trade to make less of the money bonus money, then regnegotiating his contract after the trade, getting that bonus money back. That's what made the Moss trade possible, and it would be the only way Vick could ever be traded. But like I said, Vick is the most VALUABLE player in terms of money he brings to his team, why trade him from a business aspect?
Because a Super Bowl team will get more respect than a guy who attracts fans, gives them the finger, and doesn't win.
On Rome is Burning yesterday, he was interviewing Monta Ellis (young Golden State Warriors guard), and Baron Davis pied him in the face (with Shaving Cream), and it got in Ellis' eyes. He was complaining about how he couldn't see, so they cut the interview off. Anyone know how serious the injury is?

He was mentoring Ellis (which is why Ellis is having a career year), and then he ruins his career? Jeez, Baron must feel pretty bad.
:LMAO: That's the funniest thing I ever heard. A players career ended b/c of a shaving cream pie. Bullshit. And what does this have to do with the thread??
