<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'><u>In the Cards?</u>Dec 11 - According to Newday, the Cardinals reportedly have asked to view Carl Pavano's expansive medical records, a sign that the Yankees might be able to get out from under his albatross of a contract. The Rockies previously expressed interest in the right-hander, but talks broke down because they wanted the Yanks to eat most of the $22.95 million left in the final two years of his four-year, $39.95-million deal.Finances figure to be an obstacle in potential talks with the Cards, making it far more likely that Pavano will have to prove his health by pitching regularly during spring training to increase his trade value. The Yankees no longer have to count on Pavano as part of their 2007 rotation because they have landed Andy Pettitte and the rights to Japanese left-hander Kei Igawa. They'd love to trade Pavano, who has been a major disappointment. He hasn't pitched since June 2005 because of myriad injuries, including those incurred in an auto accident that he withheld from the team.</div>

Unlike the Cubs, the Cardinals are a competant organization, and they will release him once he shows he's crap, like they did w/ fat boy Ponson last year. That being said, I hope the Cardinals trade for him, so he can fuck up a few games for them

It's not a bad deal for the Cardinals if they can get Pavano to pass a physical, and the Yankees to eat half of his salary (If not more)......Personally, If I were the Yankees though id realize that they're probably not going to get crap in a trade for him so they're better off keeping him.

Pavano sucks. Once the Cardinals realize that teams will take BP on him all day, they will be stuck with his contract and cut him. Hopefully they make this deal, and the Cubs take batting practice on him a few times
