Re: GaMeTiMe's Mock Draft Thread No problem... I probably would have thought some sarcasm there too if I read it like that. I know most people don't type like that when they are thinking, lol.
Re: GaMeTiMe's Mock Draft Thread I didn't watch every Michigan game, but I feel that I got a good idea about Woodley's talents. We may have to agree to disagree here, but one other point - if you feel that he's a 4-3 OLB, his stock may be even lower than what I have it as with competition like Timmons, Posluzny, Alexander, Everett, and Beason, all on top of the fact that OLBs tend to fall greatly. Who do you see them going into the season with at WR? Both Travis Taylor and Troy Williamson are on the bubble..Tarvaris Jackson's job is completely safe, and they're going to keep Bollinger around to compete with him, so a draft pick isn't needed there. An additional safety can be used as Sharper has fallen off a bit, and a DE can definitely be used, and I will have them going in one of those directions in the first round in every version you see (The Redskins will be drafting Branch IMO, that will be changed within a few days or so). However LB isn't a need as Ben Leber, EJ Henderson and Chad Greenway are all looking at starting jobs going into next season and depth isn't a first round issue. Which is why they're going to work on surrounding him through this off-season with better protection and weapons. Simms is still young and fits the rebuilding mode and future plan. No, I was referring to the #1 WR as the guy that can do it all, not two seperate receivers. I didn't mean that comma to seperate the two, but to describe the #1 receiver as the "guy who can do it all." Wilford can play but continues to struggle with drops, and Reggie Williams started hot but completely cooled off for the rest of the season. And it's true that usually the possession guy is #2 with a speed guy in the slot, but it's not always the case and I think that Wilford/Williams are better suited for the slot, leaving the #2 position open for a burner. Or they can even put Wilford or Williams into the starting lineup and have the other split time with a rookie speedster in the slot. It would offer them much more flexibility and open the offense up a lot more than what it is right now. It's two different cases. We're looking at drafting a future replacement for Mason, which they already have in Williams. In the case of Woodson, I'm simply suggesting a position change that will help solve two problems at once. Woodson is getting older and slowing down no matter what Mason is doing, and his skill set is going to be better suited as a free safety sooner rather than later. Even if it's not an immediate move, cornerback depth is needed. Kiel being one of their better defensive backs isn't saying much..Not that they've been trying to get rid of him, but they've brought in a whole bunch of possible replacements and sources of competition for his job. They never picked a safety through those years because they've always needed players to help them rebuild, and a safety really wasn't high up on that list. You must remember they weren't always this good. Kiel can definitely be upgraded, not that he should even be in the discussion. It's McCree I'm talking about replacing.
Re: GaMeTiMe's Mock Draft Thread you can call it homerism all you want, but almost every mock ive seen ive seen desmond bishop in the mid-2nd round...
Re: GaMeTiMe's Mock Draft Thread I guess I viewed the play of Simms differently than you did, which is probably why I think that Woodley can end up the same way as Simms has in the NFL. I don't think that Tarvaris Jackson and Brooks can be starters in the NFL, so I think they need a QB on the first day, we may be looking at a later pick such as Brian Brohm (has he declared?). They need a future starter, but I agree that it won't be a round 1 pick. The LB part I strongly disagree with. Ben Leber and EJ Henderson are very inconclusive as far as LB starters in the NFL. Greenway was injured last year, so the Vikes never really saw what they got out of it, which is probably key to them not taking a LB, not knowing if he will stand out or not. There's shades of grey for the Vikes right now, but I don't think anyone will be taken the first 2 rounds for them on offense. I see a safety and a DE coming in the first 2 rounds. I think we may see a trade up for Meriweather if needed. I think they need more than 1 lineman more for protection in this offense. No one on their line is any good right now, not to mention the entire team is old. The only people I can name that are worth some value and still young are Caddy (who's stock has dropped over the past season), and well, that's it. I don't think that Reggie Williams and Wilford were used in correct spots. Wilford to me is more of a #2 guy, not a slot or #1 WR like he was used. Reggie Williams is a possession guy as we said, but there is no way he is a slot WR like he was mostly used as. The WR spot is fine right now the way I look at it. Honestly, I think they have a new struggle for the QB spot. Who starts next year, Garrard or Leftwich? To me.. Williams isn't a guy who can replace someone like Mason. He might be a slot guy, I don't know if he is fast enough or not, but he can't replace the #1 spot. I don't think Clayton can either, so it makes it a big deal for the mere future. Woodson on the other hand, is a CB. I can't picture him as a FS because he has good coverage and knows how to play the spot already. If he was converted to a SS with more coverage options, then maybe I could see some kind of chance, but until something miraculous happens, him making a position change is unlikely. McCree isn't as bad as you make him out to be. Hart is there to back him up, and I think Hart is decent as well, probably better off drafting for depth in the later rounds, not too high up. I just don't see a S drafted as high as round 2 for them. I see them filling holes at DE spots and maybe work on the WR area.
Re: GaMeTiMe's Mock Draft Thread Pat Willis? Eh.. he's a good player and all, but unless we converted him to outside, we don't need him. I doubt we'd pass up Gaines Adams if he were available at 13. Then we wouldn't need McDonald in round 2.

Well I guess the front office of the Vikings feels differently..Whether Jackson or Bollinger can handle duties as a starter in this league or not isn't the issue, it's giving them the opportunity to do so. They just re-signed Henderson to an extension for a reason though. You're forgetting about Davin Joseph and Jeremy Trueblood. Well I just finished moving some things around (not yet posted) in order to add Michael Bush, so the Jags' pick has changed because of it. I still think they can definitely use some speed in their WR corps, but the way I have things falling they have a better player fall into their laps anyway. That remains to be seen. No need to jump the gun where there are bigger needs for the team. See the Jacksonville comment. Not only are there talks of moving Witherspoon back outside, but Willis can play out there anyway. Don't know what you mean about Adams as I don't have him on the board when you guys pick.

He had a great year in the middle, and it was a rookie year for him there. I meant Moses by the way.. my bad. I could see us passing up him I suppose, but I still don't know if I want Willis at 13.
Re: GaMeTiMe's Mock Draft Thread Comeback: About your vikes comments.EJ Henderson just got a 5 year deal and had 100 or so tackles this year. Leber was a huge surprise especially on the pass rush. Apparently Napo won't be re-signed and Henderson will be moving to the middle.Childress said that we will be going into next season with Brooks and Tarvaris competing for the starting job and that he wasn't sure whether he would be bringing in another quarterback. Our biggest needs are 1. WR2. DE3. OL4. TE5. S
Re: GaMeTiMe's Mock Draft Thread I'm not really too hot on the 2nd round pick. While I know we won't keep Jamal, he's supposed to be the highest paid running back next year if noone knows, I think we'll go OL again. Maybe sign a 1 year plan for next season or renegotiate with Jamal or simply have Mike Anderson be the running back.
Re: GaMeTiMe's Mock Draft Thread Can't see Mike Anderson having much of a future with Baltimore, and even Musa Smith may be gone. Lewis really can use a running mate. I don't consider offensive line a need for the first two rounds, unless a top guard falls.
Re: GaMeTiMe's Mock Draft Thread I think at guard we're set. We could use a center. So far this year Jason Brown and Chris Chester have done good jobs in the time they filled in.And Mike Anderson is signed for 2-3 more years. He should be given a chance since Jamal is way overpriced. However, I think late first round, instead of a linebacker if we re-sign Adalius is Michael Bush.
Re: GaMeTiMe's Mock Draft Thread If you want to give Anderson a chance, his running style would really clash with Bush's. And I think Chris Chester's future may be at center.
Re: GaMeTiMe's Mock Draft Thread Updated yet again. Probably the best version to date, but it's time for me to relax on the updates and wait until about next week. So enjoy and as always constructive criticism is welcomed and encouraged.

Especially since our RT needs to be a tough run-blocking stud like Ugoh... not a techniction who fits as more of a pass-blocking LT like Staley.Staley might be better than Ugoh overall as a prospect, but he doesn't fit our RT need.

I don't even think RB will as a position, but Leonard falling that far warrants a pick. Supposedly Bush is STILL limping and probably should have stayed in college, it doesn't appear as if his rehab is going too well as of right now. I don't think he should go as high as I have him going, but it'll be tough for Petrino not to pick him to pair with Norwood for the future, especially if they re-sign Patrick Kerney to fill the hole at DE.
Re: GaMeTiMe's Mock Draft Thread YES!!!!! TROY SMITH TO RAVENS 2nd ROUND!!!!Btw, I think Josh Wilson is a little high. He has great speed but as a Maryland fan, I know that while Josh did have a decent season, he gave up the big play in key games. He has his moments but I don't think he's worth anything over a 2nd-3rd round pick to be honest. I would probably put Daymeion Hughes ahead of him.
