We need a Defensive Lineman, a Corner, a Running back, and a Right Tackle. So how about something like this:Rd 1: Darrelle Revis (CB)Rd 2: Joe Staley (RT) [via redskins]Rd 2: Tony Hunt (RB)Rd 3: Stanley Doughty (NT)If Bush doesn't come out, and Leonard is gone by our 2nd round pick, I'd rather us wait on Hunt. Irons is too injury prone, and neither Lynch nor Peterson will fall to the mid-20's. We take a corner, fill our O-line with Staley (a workhorse with good feet), and then grab Hunt late in the 2nd, a guy who can pound it up the middle with the best of them. Then we close out day 1 by grabbing Doughty, a massive force for the Cocks this year, who kept them in games with top-notch competition by blowing up run plays and even pressuring the QB time and again.

Id love Revis, but he's looking like he's gonna go before our Draft Pick.Right now the scenario I'm starting to like is...Free Agency - Sign Asante Samuel, I know it'll be expensive, but worth every penny.Round 1) Amobi Okoye - DE/DTRound 2) Arron Sears - OG/OT Round 2) Brian Leonard - RB/FBNotice the key traits of all these players, regarded as Smart, Versatile, Instinctive, and Overall Good People. The kind of players I think Eric Mangini would be interested in. Okoye really impressed me last night from what I saw from him. He needs a bit of work on his technique, but now that we have a capable coaching staff, I'm confident they could mold this 19 year old senior into a good player. I like Sears better then Staley because of his size and I think he will be a bigger impact in the Running Game then Staley would be as Sears is stronger and has a better 'Mean Streak'.And we all know why I like Brian Leonard. Can line up in multiple positions (RB, FB, H-Back, TE, Slot WR on occasion). Can catch great, Can block great, Can Run Well. The Ultimate Team Player. So on, So forth...

I tend to believe he's more of a 17-32 talent. I don't think his techinque is good enough to be drafted in the Top half of the First Round, especially should Alan Branch declare which he seems to be expected to.Brian Leonard will last longer then he's expected to just because of his position as the pick is bound to come with alot of criticism by ignorant people who want to label him a Fullback. :whistling: If it makes you feel better though, I'm sure the Jets could package their Third Rounder with either one of those picks to trade up for them.

Not at ALL actually. Staley would be nice in the second if he's there, but he's got potential at LT so I think a team may grab him with good workouts. Hunt is a great pick and I had him there in my second round earlier but changed the pick to Leonard, which I think makes more sense. Doughty I think can be had in the fourth or fifth.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Free Agency - Sign Asante Samuel, I know it'll be expensive, but worth every penny.Round 1) Amobi Okoye - DE/DTRound 2) Arron Sears - OG/OTRound 2) Brian Leonard - RB/FB</div>Agreed 100% on Samuel. I think he's all yours.Okoye will be gone, agreed wtih Vilma there. He's at least my #1 ranked DT, and should be high on the boards of Cincy, Tennessee, NYG, Denver, and the Chiefs. That's a minefield.Sears is a great pick for you guys, but his stock is raising significantly. If he proves he can play tackle, or even that he can be flexible enough to play both, I don't think the Bears will be able to resist. As of right now it's possible though.Leonard I think will be there. I don't buy into the whole "his workouts will determine his role in the NFL" thing. He's going to be a fullback and change of pace back. Workouts will just determine his draft position, but teams are going to want to utilize him as much as possible. Unless a team sees him as an every down back or something near that, he should last until your pick. However it wouldn't be a longshot for a team to think Brandon Jacobs and grab him a bit earlier..I just can't see who at this point.

I would probably go and pick Adam Carriker even though im critical of him if Okoye was gone.

No reason you guys can't take both...Robertson would work better as a situational player in my opinion, with a mid-round rookie splitting snaps with him and Carriker as the starting and full time DE

Jets best bet of getting him is hoping he has a poor workout causing him to fall a bit.

He won't fall past 15 at all IMO. I definitley think that the Jets should invest in trading someone away with some picks to get Branch. The Jets have an absolute overpaid line (considering they have more people than needed for the 3-4). I can see them trading off someone with their 1st rounder for Branch. I think Branch is the missing piece of the defensive line. Now they just need better CB's.Oh, and I'm sure that there will be some cutting at the RB position to free up some cap space. Trading is also possible.

Carriker - Robertson - Ellis makes a good line. Doughty could provide decent depth (Although I don't see what he would do that we couldn't do with Sione Pouha, who is already on the roster, just on IR this season.)I do disagree with you heavily on Tank Tyler though. From NFL Draft Countdown<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Tends to get out of shape and stamina has been a problem...Does not have very good timed speed and lacks a burst to close...Needs to play with more consistent leverage and keep his pad level down...Needs to use his hands better...Only an average pass rusher...Work ethic, intelligence and intangibles are questionable.</div>Talk about Complete Opposite of a Mangini player.

Hence why we want someone like Carriker or Branch to replace him....

You have Ellis as you talked about, von Oelhoffen who as you said sucks, Thomas has played DE this year I believe, and those guys can carry 2 starting jobs. Maybe take a guy in the 1st day(3rd rounder maybe) for the spot of depth, but why waste it when you need a true NT and some CB's? The Jets don't have a solid 3-4 NT for the defense, and that's where I think Alan Branch comes in. He could easily be a key to the line and the run defense.

They need a DE across from Ellis. I think that's their #1 need, no doubt. Bryan Thomas is a 3-4 OLB, even if he has gotten reps at DE - it just shows their weak depth at the position. Robertson is at least adequate, but von Oelhoffen isn't going to cut it. And about trading up..With Mangini coming out from under Belichicks wing, I really doubt that's even going to be considered.
