I mean hell, it only costs half a mil per year to name a stadium after your business (part of the reason the Cubs haven't re-named Wrigley, it's not all that profitable to do so).Are the Cubs going to get on TV more than before? No. Are their merchandise sales going to go up? Maybe some, but most cubs fans spend their money regardless of the star power.</div>You do realize the Mets are getting 20 mill a year to rename their new field? Im sure the Cubs could get more then 1/2 mill per year. lol</div>The Mets are in New York. I don't remember who it was earlier this year who got half a mil, but that's all it cost.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (AdropOFvenom @ Jan 5 2007, 09:26 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>That's exactly my point with Bruney. He has no previous major league experience that was notable as positive as he posted a 7.5 ERA back with Arizona. And Dude, do you have any idea how many 24-25 year olds there are littered across AA who throw as hard, if not harder, then Bruney. Throwing Gas doesn't make you successful, being able to locate it (as Bruney clearly has not been able to as shown by his 15 walks in 20 innings) and having other pitches to keep them away from guessing at your heat does. His WHIP was pretty poor last season at 1.40 and shows to me that to a certain degree he was lucky to get out of as many jams as he did and it's only a matter of time until he comes back to earth.</div>I'm not saying that throwing gas makes him successful, I'm just saying that he's better geared to continue to pitch well than Small was.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I don't think either Hughes or Sanchez are ready right now, maybe at midseason, but you'd have to go through a half season of Karstens, Rasner, or Pavano just to get to that point.</div>Thats why I said "should Pavano fall off" and "if Karstens fall off in long relief"..I think it takes a good half season to determine if someone has fallen off or not. I know you can decide quicker, but we can afford to hold on a bit longer to make sure.

The White Sox get like 4M a year to have their dump called U.S. Cellular Field (more like U.S. Never Cell-out unless the Cubs play them Field). We'd get plenty of money to have our park corporate named. And we're the only team in MLB that has our own scapling bureu
