Nah, Usually Cannizzaro is worse then Tom Rock. Then again, nobody in NY compares to anybody out of the Boston Area like Peter King, Bill Simmons, or half of those idiots from ESPN on their hate of the Jets. I think combined King and Simmons picked the Jets to win about 6 games this year in their weekly picks.

Hes very funny, and at least thinks of good ways to make fyun of the Jets.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Miami Dolphins apparently are thinking young, just as the Jets did at this time last year.Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer will receive a second interview for the Dolphins' head-coaching vacancy, according to reports out of South Florida last night. The 33-year-old Schottenheimer will meet with Dolphins officials Tuesday at the team's headquarters after first interviewing with team officials last Wednesday in Farmingdale. The Dolphins are also reportedly very interested in Mike Tomlin, the Vikings' 34-year-old defensive coordinator.Schottenheimer completed his first season as an NFL coordinator by drawing widespread praise for his innovative system, which married a West Coast attack with a no-huddle approach. The Dolphins have interviewed 11 candidates, and Schottenheimer is the first to be identified as a finalist. It is believed the Dolphins want to narrow their candidate pool to five finalists before naming a replacement for Nick Saban, who left after two seasons to return to college football at Alabama. If Schottenheimer leaves, it probably would leave Jets coach Eric Mangini, who turns 36 this month, with at least two openings on his staff. Defensive-backs coach Corwin Brown is expected to be named Notre Dame's defensive coordinator.</div>So much for not a serious candidate... :whistling:<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, who instituted an innovative offense, is among the finalists for the Dolphins head-coaching job. He will fly to Miami for a second interview on Tuesday, a league official told The Star-Ledger yesterday. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the interview process.Schottenheimer, who interviewed with Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga, chief executive officer Joe Bailey and president Bryan Wiedmeier last Wednesday aboard Huizenga's private jet, will fly to Miami this time.Dolphins general manager Randy Mueller is expected to lead the interview. Wednesday's first interview was mostly a get-to-know-you session. On Tuesday, they'll talk football and philosophy.Schottenheimer, 33, was an offensive coordinator for the first time in his career this season and was impressive, quickly becoming a hot head-coaching candidate during a time when it's in vogue to hire a young head coach.Minnesota defensive coordinator Mike Tomlin, 34, is also said to have had a strong first interview and may be invited back. Former Rams coach Mike Martz also interviewed for the post.Overall, the Dolphins interviewed 12 candidates, including former Giants defensive coordinator Tim Lewis and USC head coach Pete Carroll, who has said he'll stay in Southern California. This weekend, the Dolphins are expected to trim the list to five and begin a second round of interviews next week.Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum said the club already has a short list of possible replacements for Schottenheimer should he leave. If the Jets stay in-house, running backs coach Jimmy Raye -- who has worked as an offensive coordinator during his 29 seasons in the league -- could be a candidate. If the Jets go outside, look for them to consider someone off the staff of the Chiefs, Chargers or Rams, who run offenses similar to the Jets. Rams quarterback coach Doug Nussmeier, 36, has extensive experience in the offense and could be a leading candidate.</div>

Its going to be either Little Schotty or Tomlin, both young guys. My guess is that it will be Schotty.Huizenga is good freinds wth Shula who is good friends with Marty. It sure does pay to have connections. And an Experienced HC would not put up with something like thye resigning of Capers, ayoung guy wouldn't mind, plus he is less likely to have issues with the GM. No ego = No problem. So what do you Jets fans think of him?

Schotty is great. He is very creative and called some interesting plays, especially involving Brad Smith, our QB/RB/WR taht confused the defenses.

One of the best young offensive minds in the game. I have nothing but praise for the job he has done here so far. His offense is basically a West Coast Offense that runs a Constant No Huddle. He uses a ton of formations, shifts, motions, and personnel packages to catch opposing teams off guard. Very aggressive coach unlike his old man and isn't afraid to call trick plays. I think he would succeed as a head coach, but it will be difficult for him to find an Offensive Coordinator who can run his offense like he does. Id expect him to hire a Figurehead OC and run the offense by himself pretty much like Andy Reid does for the Eagles. I also think he would probably want to clean house on alot of the personnel on Offense because he will need very smart players to run his offense.I still don't think he is going to get the job though. They're bringing back Chan Gailey and Jim Mora Jr. for second interviews also and will probably look into both Cam Cameron and Marty Shottenheimer (Should he get fired) now that the Chargers have been eliminated from the playoffs.

Or Brian Shottenheimer could just decide he doesn't want the Dolphins job... [IMG] <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2732215New York Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer, believed to be one of the front-runners for the Miami Dolphins' head coaching vacancy, withdrew from consideration for the position on Monday, league sources told ESPN.com.The sources did not elaborate on a reason for Schottenheimer's surprising decision. Schottenheimer is the son of San Diego Chargers head coach Marty Schottenheimer. One of 12 candidates interviewed by Miami officials since coach Nick Saban left the Dolphins to accept the job at the University of Alabama, Schottenheimer was among a group called back for follow-up sessions with team officials. He was to have met with Miami executives on Monday, but canceled the trip. Some observers felt that Schottenheimer, who has been an NFL assistant for eight seasons, had the inside track to the Dolphins' job.Over the past two days, the Dolphins met for a second time with former Atlanta Falcons coach Jim Mora and Georgia Tech coach Chan Gailey. Club officials have not revealed the finalists for the job, said how many candidates will be granted interviews or publicly discussed a timetable for filling the position. In his first season as a coordinator, Schottenheimer led the Jets to just a No. 25 statistical ranking in total offense. But the New York offense was better than that number indicates, and Schottenheimer, viewed as a rising star in league circles, was instrumental in resurrecting the career of quarterback Chad Pennington.Schottenheimer, 33, was a college quarterback at Kansas (1992) and Florida (1993-96), and began his coaching career at Syracuse in 1999. He also served on the staff at Southern California in 2000. His NFL experience includes tours of duty with St. Louis (1997), Kansas City (1998), Washington (2001) and San Diego (2002-2005).Len Pasquarelli is a senior NFL writer for ESPN.com.</div>

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"I have withdrawn my name from consideration for the Miami Dolphins' head coaching vacancy," Brian Schottenheimer said in a statement. "I am committed to the New York Jets."</div>Translation: I realized that the Dolphins job was FUBAR with no decided QB situation, too much cap space tied up in the wrong places, the defense that is a couple years away from needing a complete overhaul...

I found this one interesting.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Mike Shula a candidate for Dolphins jobNFL.com wire reportsMIAMI (Jan. 16, 2007) -- The latest candidate to emerge for the Miami Dolphins' coaching job has a big edge in name recognition: He's a Shula.Mike Shula interviewed for the job Jan. 13, a person familiar with the team's search said. The person requested anonymity because the Dolphins have declined to identify candidates.Shula's dad, Don, coached the Dolphins for 26 years, holds the NFL record with 347 victories and is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.Hiring the younger Shula would mean a swap of coaches with Alabama. He was fired by the Crimson Tide in November and replaced by Nick Saban, who left the Dolphins on Jan. 3 after two seasons.</div>http://www.nfl.com/teams/story/MIA/9934733How funny would that be... :whistling:

I would be very disapointed if we hired Shula. Im hoping that Wayne is just interviewing him for the hell of it and hes not a serious candidate, because getting a college coach is one thing, but getting a bad college coach is another. Im almost positive Don has something to do with this, and there was rumours circulating that Dan and Don would be helping with the interviews so who knows. EDIT: He has already had two interviews, and in college he had a record of 26-23 so hes not that bad afterall, and hes taken them to some bowls. I still think that this is just a favor to Don though, we have interviewed a lot of other candidates that have much more expirience.

If Huizenga hires Shula because he is Don's son, then he is the dumbest owner in the NFL.He is not ready to be an NFL Head Coach, he could be broyght into be an assistant, that I wouldn't mind. You'd think Huizenga would know not to hire him because of his name, thats like someone in one of his other businesses saying " Hey Waybe my kid needs a job, do you think you can help him out?"

What's really great is that the Dolphins are one bad hire at Head Coach away from quickly becoming the next Lions or Raiders.Look at what could be the worst of it:Kevin Carter retires at the end of the yearJason Taylor retires at the end of the yearZach Thomas retires at the end of the yearThe Offensive Line is still in shamblesDaunte Culpepper never returns to form and is a contract anchor to the team.Joey H is nothing. So what you'll have is a team with a good RB in Ronnie Brown, no offensive Line to block for him, and a former Quality QB that is no longer good in Daunte Culpepper, a 30 year old Should-Have been WR in Chris Chambers, and your best option TE Randy "I beat my wife" McMichael. So there you go on offense. On defense you have two mediocre 30 year old corners in Will Allen and Andre Goodman, an unproven 2nd round pick at DE in Matt Roth and who knows at the other DE spot, a draft pick or FA fill in at DT (both Keith Traylor and Vonnie Holiday will be gone), no proven Stronside LB nor Middle LB, only Channing Crowder, a nothing special former 3rd round pick, and at Safety Jason Allan at Safety if he can prove himself worth of starting.Yeah, nice defense. In 2008 the Miami Dolphins will be the worst roster in the league.Unless....The Dolphins can hire a coach who can draft well. A coach who can turn Daunte Culpepper's downward spiral around. A coach who can convince Kevin Carter, Jason Taylor, and Zach Thomas from retiring. A coach that can convince wuality Free Agents to sign there without having to overpay. And a coach that can make the unprovens quality. Not saying it won't happen, but I doubt there is any availible coach who can do that outside of Bill Cowher, and you can't hire him this year.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Barring a dramatic last-minute U-turn, the Miami Dolphins will announce later today that Georgia Tech's Chan Gailey has beaten San Diego offensive co-ordinator Cam Cameron in the race to become their new head coachThe process to fill the Dolphins' head coaching vacancy following Nick Saban's departure to Alabama is likely to be over on Thursday, with Gailey leading the race. Cameron arrived in South Florida on Wednesday evening to talk with officials for a second time and according to sources, who spoke with condition of annonimity, Cameron had a "strong second interview, which is likely to conclude on Thursday morning".Cameron was cleared to interview after San Diego lost to New England in last Sunday's AFC divisional playoff game. However, sources close to the franchise told Mail Sport On Line that Gailey is still the frontrunner.Gailey and Cameron are said to be willing to accept many members of the remaining coaching staff from the Saban era, including defensive chief Dom Capers.Though the Dolphins are seriously considering Capers for the top post, it is believed that owner Wayne Huizenga and president Bryan Wiedmeier are keen to appoint an offensively-minded coach.Current offensive co-ordinator Mike Malarkey's job is under threat and it is highly likely that former Alabama head coach Mike Shula, who interviewed last weekend for the top job, is expected to land a prominent offensive staff position.Mularkey's unit ranked a disappointing 20th in the NFL last season.Cameron, 45, directed the NFL's top-scoring offense in 2006, led by running back and League MVP LaDainian Tomlinson, who scored 31 touchdowns. The Dolphins are keen to name their head coach before next week's Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, where prospective draft picks are analyzed.Should 55-year-old Gailey get the nod, he would be warmly welcomed by fans of the south Florida club.Gailey arrived in Miami as an offensive coordinator at the start of the 2000 season after going 18-16 in his two seasons as the Dallas Cowboys head coach. The Dolphins went to the playoffs under him in 2000 and 2001 before he left for Georgia Tech, and the Dolphins subsequently suffered five seasons without playoff football.Gailey has a 37-27 record with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, leading the team to five consecutive postseason bowls, and is 61-38 overall in eight seasons as a college head coach.Gailey, knows the Dolphins' staff well, having worked with Capers and Mularkey when all three were on Pittsburgh's staff in the mid-1990s. Dolphins CEO Joe Bailey, who has been a key figure in the coaching search, was a Cowboys executive when Gailey was hired as head coach.British fans will have a chance to see the Dolphins in a regular season game at Wembley in the autumn.Though the teams have not been oficially announced, Mail Sport On Line exclusively revealed last week that the Dolphins will play the New York Giants. The announcement will be made next week.</div>http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/arti...in_page_id=1960Congrats Dolphins, you hired the one coach where just about the only thing he ever did right was recruit Calvin Johnson.
