Another job closed for Rivera. Looks like he'll be staying with the Bears another year. I really like him running our defense

C'mon.. now all the steelers have to do is hire rivera or grimm and we keep Tomlin as our insurance plan if Childress sucks it up next year.

What other option do we really have? After Wisenhunt went to AZ and Shotty pulled out our pool got really thin. It was a very bad year to lose a coach and I think we will make the best decision with what our options are. Chan Gailey or Cam Cameron would be fine.

Potential First time NFL Head Coaches Cam Cameron (OC - Chargers) Still a candidate, just not likely.Ron Turner (OC - Bears) Had a bad interview im assuming becase he was never called back.Ron Rivera (DC - Bears)Norm Chow (OC - Titans) Dont think hes going anywhere. Rob Ryan (DC - Raiders)Rex Ryan (DC - Ravens)Russ Grimm (OL Coach - Steelers) Looks to be a lock for the Steelers anyway.Mike Tomlin (DC - Vikings)Jim Bates (New DC - Broncos) Said it yourself, signed with BroncosAl Saunders (OC - Chiefs, Redskins)Jim Johnson (DC - Eagles)Monte Kiffin (DC - Bucs) (Not sure if he really wants a HC job though...)Re-TreadsMike Martz (OC - Lions, Former Rams HC) Wouldnt want him as a HC.Mike Sherman (Works for the Texans now, Former Packers HC)CollegePete Carroll (HC - USC) Tried him...Kirk Ferentz (HC - Iowa) Wasnt concidered, not sure why.Bob Stoops (HC - Oklahoma)Wasnt Concidered, not sure why.Charlie Weis (HC - Notre Dame) Buy out wuld be so much, he would never leave the College ranks anyway. Some Ballsy PicksJosh McDaniels (OC/QB Coach - Patriots) Wanted him, dont know why we never lookd into him. Dean Pees (DC - Patriots) Wayne probably didnt look into him because he isnt a " big name", which is stupid I know.If they felt like giving up draft picks they could try and persuade Bill Cowher.</div> I never said there wasnt enough qualified people. Im just saying out of the people we interviewed, and out of the people Wayne was interested, I think Gailey or Cameron are our best bets. - We need an offensive guy, so that eliminates all the DCs. - Anyone from the college ranks I dont think is a good choice. Chan Gailey has worked with the Dolphins before, he knows what works and what doesnt as OC. - Sherman, Martz, and Mora are all out IMO because we dont need retreads. Id take Martz as an OC any day of the week though.

The Jets 'needed an offensive guy' last year and they hired Eric Mangini who has a defensive background. Seems like it worked out just fine to me. A good coach hires good coordinators who can take care of all of that. - And maybe you don't remember the first time Gailey was in Miami, but most Miami fans were calling for his head because he was conservative (and I believe they ranked in the 20's in terms of offense both years he was there), and the general feeling was 'Good Riddance' when he left. Granted, he didn't have much in terms of personnell to work with, but I doubt 'he knows what works and what doesn't as an OC'- Mike Sherman had one losing season in 6 years when he got canned, and Mike Martz took his team to the Super Bowl and was only fired because he clashed with ownership. Not all 'retreads' are bad coaches.

    - Gailey did a much better job that Mularkey is doing right now. I think that no matter who we hire it will be an O guy, it explains why we would pay Dom so much. - Not all retreads are bad, but Martz and Sherman are probably staying put anyway. - Cam Cameron is now the " front-runner " anyway, who I wanted since Saban ditched us. I just want a HC to be chosen at this point. The process has dragged on for so long and we need to focus on the draft and what direction we are going in.

I think Cam Cameron should be anally raped. Twice. Then maybe he'd understand.
