Re: Dom Capers is now NFL's highest paid Asst. Coach <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The Miami Dolphins have reached an agreement with defensive coordinator Dom Capers on a deal that will make him the highest-paid assistant coach in the NFL.Capers' new deal is for three years and an estimated $8.1 million, team sources confirmed. His salary in 2007 will be $2.6 million, equal to that of Washington Redskins assistant head coach/defense Gregg Williams, but Capers will get raises of at least $100,000 per year in 2008 and 2009.</div>http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2730315Genius. Handicap whoever your Head Coach is going to be by signing a Defensive Coordinator before him, not to mention make him the Highest paid Asst. Coach in the NFL.
Re: Dom Capers is now NFL's highest paid Asst. Coach What do you mean handicapping the head coach? Its not like were not going to pay the new head coach big money, Wayne is known for paying top dollar for whoever he wants. If he has the money, why not spend it to keep the guy you need to keep?
Re: Dom Capers is now NFL's highest paid Asst. Coach They've already lost a couple of assistant coaches, they have denied other teams the ability to offer jobs to the rest. My guess is that Capers was resigned in to keep some continuity. Plus he's a good DC.Now what does this say? They will probably hire one of the OCs Cameron, Wisenhunt or Little Schotty. Also Huizenga is reportedly throwing out his One Voice Philsophy(Thank God)

Instead they're forcing a coordinator who may or may not fit with the new head coach down his throat.
Re: Dom Capers is now NFL's highest paid Asst. Coach Oh, I never really concidered that. I think that the guy we bring in will most likely be an Offense guy. Thats what we really need, Capers has done a really good job so I doubt that a new HC would have replaced him anyway.
